I just wanted to give little point to Camaro Performers Magazine.
The latest issue , Sept' 09 , is pretty darn good.

They've got a great article on Randy Bells' " California Suede" primered 67 Camaro with the race car chassis.
Congrats Randy !!

Also , great coverage of the Nevada Open Road Challenge with James Shipka's One Lap Camaro .( with Steve Rupp in Navigator duties )

And a great article on the 67 Camaro " Cherokee " concept /pace car.
Can anybody identify the CanAm cars and drivers on page 86 that are being paced by the Cherokee ????

Thanks for as great magazine guys !!
It's my favorite !!

Some of those wings on the CanAm cars are just wacky! lol

Also congrats to our two new staff photographers.. David & Mary Pozzi! :)

Randy's car was just too cool not to give a page to.

Next month is the Jackass feature and the MotorState Challenge story.

I can't believe I'm already working on the December issue.. eek!

Those Can Am cars rule !!

I see Bruce Mclaren and Dennis Hulme on the front row.
Dan Gurney's Lola .
Mark Donohues Lola.
Jim Halls Chaparral.

I just can't identify them all.

David Pozzi ! Where are you !!

Somebody call Pete Lyons !

I love car nostalgia / history articles.
That's a new style of story for Camaro Performers Magazine.

Thanks for the heads up Jeff.
Thanks to Steve Rupp for putting my car in the Camaro Performers magazine. I have looked all around town and can not find the magazine. What stores normally carry it? Can any one fax a copy of the article to me?
860-482-8281 Thanks and I look forward to seeing it. Randy

Outstanding issue, this magazine keeps getting better and better!
Steve, thanks for giving Mary and I a little glory for kicking in a few pics! It's something else to see a photo you took in a magazine. We had a blast at the Silver State event and didn't even drive anything!

Pete Lyons is a great photographer and I am proud to say he actually knows who I am! We've got a few friends in common, and he loves Lola T-70's!

I've also got to chime in here as each issue of Camaro Performers just gets better and better. Great coverage of the NORC (Nevada Open Road Challenge) and if I hadn't been there, reading the article would have been a close runner-up. Steve has such a way weaving information into what could be a very boring article and making it entertaining yet very educational. Great gift with words, Steve, and keep on writin' and shootin'.

Cheers,
Mary Pozzi

P.S. You still need a proofreader as there's four for this last month ...

The Cherokee Camaro was also used as a pace car at Watkins Glenn in 1967. I saw a youtube video that showed it! Stirling Moss was a special Can-Am representitive in 1967, he had a bad accident that forced him to retire from racing, so he was available for event promotions like this.

That's cool David .
Books are "reference manuals".
I went on the Pete Lyons website , he has the books for sale , but they are expensive.
The books are out of print now and are at a collectible price....

Randy's an amazing guy!

Jeff,
I'll look for a copy at the Historics. It's huge, like 300 pages, they made both a hard cover and paperback, both are 10"X10" page size, so the photos are very large and the photography is terriffic!

He also published "Can Am Photo History" with less text and more photos. He drove race to race in a white van, often sleeping in it back in the day.

Thanks for the compliments on the mag, guys. We really appreciate it.

Mary, you only found 4 mistakes? We're getting better...lol

If any of you have problems finding Camaro Performers at your favorite newsstand, be sure to tell the store manager you want it. That's the only way to get into the thick heads of these retailers who know nothing about automotive magazines.

Spoke to Ed Lyons over the phone about using the photo as a lead. What a great guy and a fantastic photographer. He's got some really cool stuff from the Can-Am days. Check it out at www.petelyons.com (http://www.petelyons.com).
