The survivors are showing their true colors. I vaguely remember they were taunting the tiger.

I think they need to be reunited with the tiger.

That's why you always let the tigers finish their meal.

Everybody who?
The only thing I was upset about was that they shot the tiger before he had a chance to kill the other two.

I don't understand our justice system at all. How is it possible that the "victims" climbed over the fence to get in with the tigers & the zoo has to pay them $900,000 for THEIR stupidity? Makes absolutely no since to me.
Same with a burglar breaking into my house to rob, rape, kill (whatever), & they step on my son's skateboard & fall down the stairs & breaks his leg, MY INSURANCE HAS TO PAY FOR IT! I don't get it.

A thousand times this.
I dont get it either, and never will. One of many things I hate about our legal system.

The zoo had to add a bunch of video cameras after that as well, in addition the the loss of revenue from the zoo being closed for several weeks after the incident. As usual a couple of drunken goons ruin things for everybody.

So you can break into a tiger enclosure, get attacked (rightfully so) and walk away with almost $1 million? Wow, just wow.

this.... very sad. Couple of goons do something and the animal loses his/her life.

I had to visit the zoo to consult for the video system installation. I cost a boat load to install since there was no underground conduit existing.
If you haven't been to this zoo it is hard to understand the amount of effort these two morons went through to get into that pen.
They should have shot the two and put the tiger back.

Because it is less expensive and creates better press for the zoo to just pay them off than to fight it in court. It's simple economics, but it sends the wrong message.
Tigers deserve revenge too.

Isn't it the innocent that usually pay for the stupidity of criminals?
I think the tiger should have been put back in the pen......then toss the two morons in with the bears (bears have to eat too).

They didn't get into the pen. The tiger jumped out.
They were taunting the tiger and throwing things at it. Thing is, that the enclosure had been as is for nearly 50 years with dozens of different tigers housed in it and nobody in that time span was able to piss a tiger off enough to have it jump (20' lateral and 14' vert) out of the enclosure.
Again the real shame is that they shot the tiger before it killed the other two morons.

I think you guys are talking about two different events. There was one where a couple goofs tried to get in for some odd reason, and then this one where the goofs pissed the tiger off and it was able to get to them somehow.

Well the subject of this thread is the two Dhaliwal brothers who were at the SF zoo on Christmas day a few years back with a friend of theirs. They taunted the tiger, it jumped out and killed their friend before it was shot. They should have let the tiger kill the Dhaliwal brothers too.

Ok, the way I see it. If the zoo is providing a service, it should be able to do it safely. The Zoo has been warned several times that the tiger enclosures are not up to par with other Zoo's and it should be updated. Fault on the Zoo.
2 men died here, in a very horrible way. No man should have to go through that. These guys might have been idiots and petty criminals but this should not justify the how they were killied.
You guys are missing the point. The same could have happed to a couple 12 year olds taunting the animals.
Damn True

In nearly 50 years nobody was able to piss off a tiger to the degree required to inspire one to attempt to leap out of that enclosure. That's a lot of tasty looking tender young kids and 1/2-in-the-bag a-hole adults in that span. The enclosure managed to retain a vast number of big cats until that particular day.
These guys were "special" and one of them got what they richly deserved. I wish the other two had gone through the feline skull crusher as well.
It shouldn't be the zoo's responsibility to a-hole proof their facility.

besides, the parents of the 12yr olds should smack the sh!@ out of them LOOONG before the tiger gets pissed off.
now that i think about it, in a perfect world somebody would have done that (or tasered) the 2 idiots. they'd be punished, but alive and more importantly, the tiger would be alive. god i love the modern politically correct world.:bsjerk:
