Hey guys,
I pulled my trucks carb apart the other day to clean it up and replace the gaskets. I have a pair of carb shop speed blocks off of another carb I have. I was going to put those on it, long story short the head broke off the jet deal (not sure what you call them) so I threw that idea out. So I want to upgrade my carb without having to sell the motor to fund it. I have been considering using the QFT base, and metering blocks but I want to be sure there worth the skittles before I order them.
Has anybody had any luck with these parts or should I look some place else?

QFT is good stuff, but I prefer BLP parts.
I have talked to both companies, and Bo Laws of BLP is clearly one of the sharpest guys around when it comes to matching carb parts to intended use.

It may not be cheaper, but he is very good.
If you want QFT, give this guy a shot, he is a friend of mine and deals in QFT. He is also a Tremec dealer and can get some very good deals on drivetrain stuff from many manufacturers.

Thanks for the links! He has some very nice stuff.
I have another question now that I am basically building a whole new carb. The truck I am working is just a play truck it’s got a 400 small block with .30 over probe flat top pistons, scat rods and crank, dart iron eagles I think they are the 180CC’s (I am not sure on what model they are or what combustion chamber) they also have those pain in the rear angled plugs. The carb I am pulling off of it is a double pumper 800. It does good I changed the jets around and it made a huge difference in it but it still has a slight stutter step when it is under load and stomp the throttle, and I have my suspicions with the carb being a little bit of over kill. Should I consider building a 750 with good parts or step the parts in the 800 and back the jets down?

If your street driving and get the bog opemni ng the cecondaries its got either too much accel pump cam or to large a shooter.
See in a drag car the converter(ie loose) and "wheel spin" lets the DP "work".
If its street driven a well set up vac secondary will serve you well just get adjustable secondary conversion and a spring kit.
