Old time ...First Auto cross

I forgot I had this on the computer... This was way back in 2002.
My first time out with the car at an autocross event.
I loved it !!!
The car was very much stock, just restored it in my garage in 1999...
I have looped it the run before on the last turn so I was trying to take it a little easy....

Just thought I would share it...

Hoping to get the car to handle better for next time !!!!

Awesome video! The car looked pretty flat and composed though it didn't look like your tires provided a wealth of grip. What kind were they? If nothing aggressive, an upgrade could make a huge difference.

I was and am still running the same Dunlop Gt Qaulifier tires they were 255/60/15 front in rear in the video I put some 275/60 on the back last year... the rear wore out faster for some reason....;)

I actually beat a Mustang Cobra ( fox body ) and was about 4-5 seconds off the New F-boyes that were on much better rubber...
The car pushes really bad off throttle and you have to use the throttle to get it turn off the corners it seems and yes grip seemed to be very lacking...

I have some 17" snowflakes now and I am shopping for tires... I was looking at th kuhmo XS series but I just read they at 180 tw and that might not let me run in solo2, SM2 or some event in the future should I get to go to a track day... seems 200 is the new rule.
