Well I got the car put back together and went back to the dragstrip tonight. Last month I went for a King Of The Street event and I had a few lifters come apart for some reason or another. So I had to phone a friend to pick me up and drag it home. I ended up yanking the engine thinking it was a toasted piston but then found otherwise. I need up putting a solid roller cam in it.
But anyway, I went to the track tonight and it finally went into the 10's officialy!!!! Whohoo!!!! I ended up pretty much hot lapping it and made 7 (yes, seven!) passes on it. With the best being a [email protected]. It is really not any faster than it was before, but the thing just would never made a clean pass when it counted.
I have been trying to get this little piece of paper for almost 9 years now and now I finally got it!!

Just thought I'd share my happiness!

Nice numbers. I love seeing some members take the car to the track and play.

Congrats! 10s very stout- curious what tire you were running? Is it manual or Auto? What was your 60 foot time on the 125 mph pass?

Car is making nice power!

The tire was a 27/10.5 ET Street. TH350 trans, 3.00 rear. And the short time was not too good at 1.76 and spinning a bit.
Our track is kinda funny, some cars (the fast ones) run 1/8 mile, any other car with slicks run 1000' and DOT tires run 1/4. I thought I was going to have to run 1000 a few passes before so I got in the slick lane and actually had better times those passes by over a tenth in the short Part of the track, but they weren't 1/4. So I changed lanes and went out the back door!

I'll try to put up a current video on my FQuick page.

Glad to hear you're running again! Getting that 10 sec timeslip is definitely milestone!

Props to ya for beating on it and not having a garage queen. lol

It did however throw the belt on the last burnout (I guess) and ended up getting waaay too hot and blew the overflow tube off and lost about a gallon of water at about the stripe!!! Dooh!! Nice little 20 minute track cleanup!

But the belt was there and I did drive it on the trailer!

Nice! be sure to make a copy of that timeslip. Several tracks I've been to must use disappearing ink because they faded to nothing after a couple years
