im new at this and i need a lil bit of help. i currently have a 2002 Mustang GT... lots o performance mods and its mostly suited for drag racing. im running fats and skinnies, tall cowl hood, etc etc... well i was offered to trade straight up for a equally as clean fox sedan with a built and stroked 351w. he said the car should go mid-high 10s n/a and touching the 9s on the gas. i personally dont really care for spray so that not a big deal it running 10s other wise. well i love my 02 but im at a stopping point with it to go any further with in reason. not to mention u get to a point where u are ready to start something new. lately i been getting the pro touring bug and wondered how nice i could make this fox one. downsides are that visually there isnt much a person can do besides wheels and/or hood changes and still keep the car clean looking. i cant afford to start a project with an older car such as a velle, mustang, or an a-body mopar... rather than going the simple route of a straight line performer, id like to make it a car that can do it all. handle well, haul ass well, and look good inside and out.... ive tried looking online for pics for ideas on different looks and setups but havent found much. anyhow anyone have any ideas... i have a friend that owns a mustang speed shop so parts isnt a problem. hes a maximum motorsports dealer so i could get it handling right and he has the best tuner out there manning the chassis dyno... i wanna make people go wow when they see this fox which usually doesnt happen often or at all when u look at a fox. yall prolly wondering why i dont i just make my 02 a touring car...well i dunno i guess wanting a different car sparks my interest...we will see though. nothing is set in stone at this point.. it could very well be made into a touring car.

ideas and pics are welcomed...

to give you an idea, I have a 95 stang stock 5.0 and auto (which sucks but its my DD). I put coilovers in the front and adjustable spring perch lower control arms in the back and kyb shocks. with 245 tires i can pull a constant 1G, I have an accelerometer in the car.

personally i would stay with the 2002 since it has a better chassis to build from. the Fox will need some more chassis reinforcements to get on par with the 2002. but you got some good help at your friends shop.

good luck!

i agree with the newer car being stiffer... especially since it already has full length subframe connectors and welded up torque boxes.. and upper and lower control arms....i guess im looking for a challenger to take on. my current car is done aside of a new paint job to make it a show car and other just small details... it runs low 12s at 118 trap speed with little to no traction taking off. the fox will be greatly faster and have a fresh brand new engine which is prolly nearly the biggest cost involved in any build. the only thing i can come up with for looks is prolly just lower it and do some fr500 wheels on it. i guess the best thing i can do if i decide to go with the fox is just to make it nice. cars like that are older now and usually not well kept...anyhow...thanks for the ideas.....

id love to build a pro touring 4 speed a-body mopar but finding a guy willing to trade a potiential subject to trade for a late model mustang is impossible....
