Does anyone make 4 or 5 point belts that can be put in and taken out for track day and retain the factory style 3 point system for cruising.... Car is a 2nd gen F-body.

Thanks

Anyone using these in a 2nd gen or a car not one the quick list like a suburu or bmw ? How to I attach it to the car? Looks like drilling holes will be required at a minimum.

Thanks

Schroth makes a 4 point with ASM technology that I used in The 14 Car untill I finally went to a full cage. See this thread https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40023 And follow the links on Schroths website to the crash test videos.

They (tech inspectors) let me use the Schroth Rallye 4 harnesses
http://www.schrothracing.com/store/Tuning/rallye/rallye-4 at NASA events for HPDE, the ECTA up to 135 MPH, and drag strip NHRA and NMCA events using stock seats and no rollbar. Very nice quality harnesses I liked so much I bought their 6 point Hans compatable Profi series harnesses when I got the cage. If you purchase the Rallye 4's spend the couple extra bucks for the optional plastic inserts for the ends of the belts where you tug on them to snug them up, it's well worth it when you're in the pits trying to get ready for a session. I sold my Rallye 4s to another board member with a 2nd gen so he may chime in on them if he's been using them.

I mounted my Rallyes in the stock seat belt mounting locations and left the stock belts in place for the street. After using the Schroth harnesses a few times I just took out the stock belts because I didn't even want to use them on the street. (how safe is a 40 year old seatbelt?) If you occasionally have rear seat passengers you cannot use the Rallye 4s when there is anyone in the back.

The Schroth ASM harnesses are comfortable and avoid the dreaded sub belt on the street. I've had several cars with 4, 5, and 6 point harnesses used on the street. The Schroth Rallye 4 is the best option that I've found for non caged/rollbar cars being used on the street. I believe they are also the only 4 point harness with DOT approval. I may buy another set of harness bar mounted ASM belts to use on the street. I just don't like using sub belts on the street and took a 3 hour drive the other night and wished I didn't have sub belts.

Here's a couple pics showing the Schroths I had in my car. The angle of the belts to the rear seat belt mounting locations looks unorthodox by previously accepted techniques but because of the ASM technology the angle of the belts can be different. For serious track duty a roll bar with a harness bar, real racing seat, and either 5 or 6 point belts is safer. If it reclines etc. it isn't a race seat.
If you want to see more safety stuff for a 2nd gen see this thread https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48151
