TH 350 No or very little reverse action.

Hi Guys

Have a problem wiyh my TH350. It shift fine and very firm between 1-2-3 gear but in reverse it acts up. If I reverse on a level plane it is almost ok, but if I reverse uphill it acts up. There is a slight vibration and no movement.
Oil level has been checked and I made an oil and filter change 3-4 months ago.
Have you got any ideas?

Did it work fine before or has it never worked right since installed? All I can think of that's an easy fix is making sure the shift linkage is engaging reverse properly.

I bought the car 3 1/2 ago with the tranny installed. It has worked fine until recently. Tried to keep the gearlever in different positions near the reverse position but it doesn´t seem to help.

Automatics can be sensitive to fluid levels, Double check that it isn't too low and is a clean red (unburnt)color. Did the problems start immediately after the fluid change? If that's the case and silicone sealant was used it may have gunked something up. Drop the pan and have it cleaned out, flush the transmission, hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise it's probably transmission rebuild time.
