OK,

Gonna be buying some rims soon and need some opinions. I have a red car with black strips. I have always toyed with the idea of getting chrome rims with the centers BLACKED OUT. I think it would look good on my car and would compliment the black strips. Only problem is I dont know which rims to get. I have a deal brewing with Budnik and I know they will finish the centers in black but dont know of anyone running Budniks with blacked out centers. Does anyone have pics of them? If I go with chrome I am thinking of going either with the Cobalt or Famosa. Seen plenty of pics of the Famosa, does anyone have pics of the Cobalts on a Red Camaro?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I don't have any pics for you, but have you thought about taking a pic of the one you like and photochopping with a black center??? I'm sure you can twist someone's arm on here to do that for you....

Mark,

I think the black center with the chrome lip will look killer on a red car with black stripes...hopefully "DARKBUDDHA" will see this post and photoshop it for you with the different wheels you want to see he has done a few on here before that came out nice.

I just started to get a hang of photoshop. If you can give me your email address, I will send you some pictures of a couple of red camaros with the Cobalt rims in both chrome and blacked out centers. I gotta tell you though, after changing the centers on the cobalts to black, it looks awesome!

Hey Kyle,

Would love to see the cobalts with the blacked out centers. That is one of the options I am looking at. Could you please send me the pics of the cobalts on a red camaro in chrome and blacked out? That would be awesome.

My email address is [email protected]

Thanks

Personally I'm not a fan of blacked out wheels. My vote is for chrome.

But I have seen some blacked wheels that I like, but it has to be black centers with chrome lips.

I am in the middle when it comes to black wheels, guess it depends on the application. If the car has black in it , which your's does , it might look killer. Sometimes a chrome/polished lip can make the wheel itself look smaller, the whole optical illusion thing comes into play.

I remember I had a 1998 Camaro SS , which had black 17'' ZR1 wheels with a polished lip , and when you looked at them they looked like they were 15'''s cause of the lip contrasting the black.

Photoshop for this application is def. a good thing
