Thinking about buying a scimitar. The last pic is the actual boat I'm thinking about. A fresh gloss/flat back paint job, A couple sport seats and a custom back bench, lsx engine and about 7k in some new electronics. Would you conceder it a protouring boat?

Way back, Glastron was way ahead of their time. Especially the Carlson line. Just my opinion.

HECK YEAH pro-tour a boat. I'm a ski boat guy but I certainly pro-tour a ski boat. As much form as it has function, no doubt!!!

Hah, brings memories of metal flake gelcoats and longer (& more) hair! Love that boat, but they are heavy hulls.

I think they only made 500 or so. Pretty cool. Would like nice behind that 2 door Tahoe I am doing!

Cool.

I've always wanted one of these, but would probably hate it for the upkeep costs, etc...

The scimitar?
It’s a cool looking boat but not very functional as a pleasure boat. Pleasure boating and roofs don’t work for me. The wind blasting thru your hair is half the fun. Your passengers usually like to be out in the sun, so you end up sitting alone in the cockpit. Boating with a roof over your head is just a bumpy car ride. There have been more than just a few guys that bought an offshore racing closed canopy boat only to convert them to open cockpit.

The boat market is SUPER soft right now. You can practically steal boats. Before everybody defaulted on their Florida homes, they defaulted on their boats. The banks flooded the market with underpriced boats, and it hasn't recovered. There are a ton of boats to be had for pennies on the dollar. Check the prices on ended auctions on ebay. My buddy gave away his 502 powered 27 Baja for the price of the motor and outdrive. His boat was well maintained and EXTREMELY clean. There is just no market.

People still do that? I thought fishing was outlawed when water ski courses were invented...
