Carmel, CA area Labor Day weekend

So the wife and I are going to Carmel over labor day weekend and I was wondering what to try and do besides check out Laguna Seca. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. We arrive Friday Sept. 4 in the AM and depart Tuesday the 8th AM. Is there anything going on that we should check out?

Carmel itself is beautiful. You can do the 17 mile drive, check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the Cannery row, drive down the coast a little to Big Sur.... There's quite a bit you can do, really. I like it because it's a beautiful area.
