Does anyone know if one of the cheaper universal kits would fit a camaro with fully shaved firewall and marquez dash or do I need the actual "camaro" kit?

Also, if I just want heat but no AC is there a cheaper kit I can get?

Summit and Jegs both have under $200 universal heater kits.

I installed the vintage air heater with manual control. Works great, bought mine through Frank.

I used the summit heater Part# SUM-991102 (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-991102/) and placed it behind my glove box, you will need the A/C glove box liner (its smaller and allows more room behind it) the heater uses a single 3 speed switch that I place in the cigarette lighter hole that allowed me to get rid of the factory heater controls, (i used the heater plate from DSE and placed my radio there) (http://www.detroitspeed.com/productpages/indproduct/vintageair/controller_mount_prod.htm) and since the heater has 2 outlets on the face I ran flex tubing to the defroster Y vent from one and let the other blow on the passenger floor area with a shut of valve on the floor vent (http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/air-conditioning/2-5-inch-defrost-y-with-flap-65.php), for the hoses to the firewall I used a small aluminum bulk head (http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/air-conditioning/heater-bulkhead-hoses-no-fittings-required-476.php?source=googlebase)
(http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/air-conditioning/heater-bulkhead-hoses-no-fittings-required-476.php?source=googlebase) its small and clean allowing the hoses transfer the heater water

I added links to the parts, I will post some pics later
