I have been a muscle car guy as long as I can remember. My 1st car memory is of my dad's 78 Firebird. I was just big enough to see over the dash and loved to watch the shaker hood move!
In Highschool I had a 1979 Firebird, but sold it when I went to college.
5 years ago I bought a 68 Camaro with an EE engine code 327 and a rear folding back seat. The EE code is an option for the 327 that increased the hp from 210 to 275. So after buying the car I tried to rebuild it, but couldn't get the power I wanted out of the 2 bolt mains. So I pulled the engine (and put in storage to keep the # matching) and dropped in a GM performance zz383 stroker with AFR heads. I rebuilt the TH 350 trans and put new gears, new axles and a new driveshaft in. The added some heads and a dual exhaust with an x pipe. Then took it down to the bare metals and repaired the rust and gave it a fresh code of paint.
I'm now in the details stage and looking for ideas to make it a pro touring car and upgrade the suspension and customize it a bit.
