How come rear rotors are bigger than front on this car?

Rear pistons are staggered bore but very small diameter in the CTS-V rear calipers...can't remember off hand what they were exactly, but I remember being surprised with how small the pistons were when I measured them the first time. The fronts aren't particularly large either at 40.5/36.5 mm IIRC.

They also had to use different surface coefficient with those calipers so they made rotor larger diameter, smaller brake caliper in piston sizes but the momentum arm on a larger diameter helps regulate AND more surface area keeps it cooler so they raised pad life by like 20 percent, and kept the brakes from bouncing you off the steering wheel , at least not as bad as a Vette can.
