Need help with an issue on my PC...

For about a week now , the screen every few minutes will scroll down at high speed or scroll up at high speed.

I'm in intermediate user and don't really know what direction to take on this.Right or wrong I did a system restore to June 29 yesterday, but that did not eliminate the problem.

Running XP, computer is 1.5 years old, its an Emachine.

Uses Computer Associates Security Suite from Time Warner.

Any help is appreciated.

I wondered about that, but since it does it with my hand off the mouse I dismissed that as a possibility.

i'd be tempted to point towards the mouse, too--actually moreso since it happens when your hand is off--sounds like something funky happening with the little scrolly wheel. Try swapping to a spare or borrowing one and see what happens.

I don't have a spare mouse but once I get a new one I'll post the result.
