Dragged my junk up there and had a blast with the family. My 3yo daughter spent plenty of time practicing her parade wave. I was happy my new to me 200K mile 01 Dodge 5.9 Cummins made it without any issuses. 75 MPH on cruise the whole way averaged 14.5 MPG. My old gas chevy was lucky to get 10.5 loaded up hauling a trailer like that.
I have been to a lot of shows and some even pretty big shows but I have never seen so many high quality cars show up in one place.
I have pretty broad taste so there is a little something for everyone here.

Dude, you are really scaring me. Our builds already had a lot in common. Now I find out you just got a used Dodge Cummins pickup, and guess what? I'm currently in the market for a used Dodge Cummins powered pickup. I just looked at one this evening. I just bought a used 24' enclosed hauler, and decided I need to get something beefier to pull it.

LOL thats too funny. What are you looking for? Make sure its a std trans. The auto will just not hold up. If you are looking for a older high mile truck 01 / 02 are the best years. You don't have the high dollar electronic injectors but you don't get a 53 block. If looking at 00 and back try to avoid the 53 block. Its about a 50/50 chance the truck will have one. They were cast too thin in Brazil and many have cracked. My dads small Diesel shop has had to replace many blocks and all were 53's.

Thanks for looking. Did anyone else notice the insane rotors on this car? Probably not much for braking but talk about insane looks. I think he had mechanical problems Saturday during the auto-x. I did not see it again Sunday.

I'm trying to stay open minded. I'm definitely getting a diesel, and the cummins is my favorite. Ideally a 6spd, quad cab - but that means newer and I don't know if I want to spend the money on something that doesn't get used that often. I'd prefer a short bed.
Right now everything is on the table. I'll consider a powerstroke or even a duramax (though it's real unlikely I'd go the duramax route). Nothing older than a 2000 at the most. Probably nothing newer than an 05 due to cost.

Anyone know what color this car is?
At least on the front end, it doesn't look quite black.

Yeah, freshly build cars with tons of aftermarket parts, that's totally inexcusable. :pat:

form over function? suddenly thats a pro-touring trait? Lets chop up a perfectly good pair of rotors to 'try something different' regardless of the performance ramifications? Sounds more shock based than performance based. A trait you typically see in the minitruck and VW scenes...
That would explain the car having issues competing in a 35mph autocross... Amazing motor and car, but those rotors are just plain stupid. Sorry.

Who said the rotors had anything to do with the "mechanical issue?"

yup... I'd expect a modification like that out of the VW or mini truck crowd, but not on a nice build like that.

Well, I stumbled onto what seems to be a good deal and bought an '04 Dodge 2500 SLT Quad Cab with the Cummins and 6spd manual. Other than the normal stone chips, the body and interior are real clean. 220k on the clock, but at the price I got it for I could put a new long block and injector pump and still be ahead of the game. I wanted a short bed quad cab 4wd with the 6spd so I'm happy. More miles than I'd like, but it should be fine. I was surprised at how difficult it was to find a short bed with the cummins and 6spd. I drove a '99 F350 7.3 auto, and wasn't that impressed. Do you have the 5 or 6spd in your Dodge?

I wanted a 6 speed but never found one in my budget so ended up with a 5-speed. Your 04 should be a real nice truck. Just hope you never have an injector go out. You will think billet hood hinges are cheap once you price an injector. :slap:

62 was built by Hudsons' Customs in Straw Plains Tn. Just about 10 min from knoxville. The car owner is a friend and is from Jefferson City. Car got 2 picks (builder choice and top ten) I think

Hey, not to hijack the thread - but....
Picked up the truck in FL on Saturday AM and drove straight through to PA. That HO motor coupled with the 6spd is a beast. Set the cruise to 65mph and the only time I had to touch anything is when I needed to slow down. Up the steepest hills it just smoked through. If I touched the throttle, it just picked up speed. The truck needs a few minor things, but 555lbs of tq at 1400rpm is nice!

WOW...some seriously sweet rides. Thanks for the shots!
I helped to get this mustang out the door to the show with last minute fixes/tune. 4th of July delay to my BBQ. Felt like one of the Overhaulin shows with a deadline.
