Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. I just picked up a 1965 Pontiac Tempest 2 door hardtop over the weekend to go along with my 05 GTO daily driver.
I'm getting ready to start the journey of creating a pro-touring style classic and look forward to getting input from everyone here.
Currently the body is in pretty good shape, very straight, although I do have to replace the trunk floor. She currently has the 326 and 2-speed, but eventually those will be replaced with an LS motor and a 6-speed.

You need to at least take me for a ride. I don't think I'm puting mine back on the road until I swap out these brakes. Driving a car with 4 wheel drums for the first time was definitely an eye opening experience.

I honestly couldn't tell you. It is a very light blue. I'm not sure if it is a stock color or not.

Thanks guys. Right now I am in the process of planning out the build and as soon as I have a game plan I will start a build thread.

Welcome!
Check out my '64 Tempest build thread, it might help give you some ideas for your '65 Tempest build since they're both essentially the same car other than some styling differences in the body sheetmetal:https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48361

Hard to tell from the pics but looks like Bluemist Slate or maybe Fontaine Blue? Doesn't help that they had 4 blues in '65. I had a '65 Lemans 455/4sp in Fontaine Blue, nice color.
