T56 swap - Driveshaft Mods

I am trying to put together a t56 swap on a budget for my 68. I understand that the driveshaft needs to be shortened to do the swap. What exactly does this involve? Is it something that I could do, or is it something that I really need to have done by a pro. If I need to have someone do it, who do I go to and what should I expect it to set me back? Also is it possible to buy driveshafts that are allready shortened somewhere?

So far I've gotten a lot of good info about this swap from here but I'm probably going to have lots more questions about it as I keep working on putting this together.
