79 camaro with 72 front?

ok can this be done? ideas are floating around the shop because i have found a stupidly cheap 79 camaro for sale on craigslist that has a great body and all origenal but i absolutly hate the 79 frontend. so can you swap a 72 split bumper on it? so can it be doen? i would assume new hood fenders whole nine yards would be needed

sure! would be easiest to find a complete front end, since all the under bumper stuff is different, but it'll bolt up.

Its been done, but looks awkward....

The smoothness of the early second gens doesn't look right with the sharpness of the tail lights and such on the later ones....

I wish I could find the picture of the one I remember, but maybe someone will chime in here. I think the other one was blue?

I don't think it looks 'so' bad. I saw a big bumper cmaro w/ the earlier nose and that looks weird.

now you're talking some metalwork; the later taillights wrap around the sides. th rear window wraps around also, so more changes there if you want to do it 'complete'.
either way, should be an interesting hybrid. go for it!

And quarters? that 70-74 back window is quite different from 75-81.

Up front as I understand it you need literally everything except a hood. Even a rad support.

there was one on the chicago craigslist a few months back ...ill see if i kept the pics of it..it looked ok as long as you were in front of it..not from side..lol
