I am installing a mini tubs on my 69 Camaro. I want to run a 18X12 wheel and 335 tire. What backspacing does everbody run. I also plan on running the quadrilink suspension.

The "standard issue" 18" wheel most run is a 6" to 6.2" BS wheel which will give you a 5" lip. What wheels you choose, what brakes you run, all will contribute to weather you can run less BS and get more lip.

You welcome to call and discuss you thoughts.

The popular route is an 18x12 with a 5.5" backspace. We've built numerous sets this way for countless mini tubbed camaros. Some 3pc manufacturers are not able to get this backspace, but can come close within a .5" or so. The best way to do it, if you are building a car is to build the wheels first, then mock them up, and take a measurement for your rear end length. That's how most guys do it.

Let us know if you need help with any of wheel brands.

I will probably run a C5 Brake on the rear. Im not trying to set the world on fire, I just want this car back on the road. Seems like when you disassemble a car to a shell, the project slows way down!! I will give you a call when I get the tubs finished. The next decision will be wheels, I do want a lip on the rear. If I run the stock subframe I will be limited to a 8" wide front wheel from what I have read here. Of course I did buy one of Bills 1 in 60 tickets, I mean t-shirts. Maybe I will be the one carrying the Jakes front end home from RTTH5.

Wheels will be my next purchase, I like the rated X by Rushforth. When you get a chance send me a quote on a set. 2 piece 18x12 and 18X8 with BFG KDWs 335/30 and do you know what will fit the front. If you don't mind polished and with black centers. My Camaro is going to be Blue with Black stripes, so I don,t know which will look better.

Thanks Michael

Yes, we know what will fit the front of your car, it will just be based on a few simple questions. We know these aftermarket parts like the back of our hands, and we know how they effect wheel backspace and tire size.

I'll send you a PM bud.

Blue with black stripes.... a black center, or even a brushed center would both look good....
