I have a 73 Camaro that has been on the back burner for several years. Lots of stuf is available now that wasn't when I started on it. The car is allready mini tubbed and 315s fit just fine. I would like to gain a little more clearence and mybe run a 335. I checked with DSE and they do not sell the front spring pockets seperate and I do not need any of the other stuff in their mini tub kit. Have any of you moved the springs in and do you have any advise you could give me? Thanks

I'm not sure it's nessisary. I know DSE has offset shackels for the 1st gen, I seem to recall them fitting 2nd gen too

I am wanting to move the front of the leaf springs in board. I have allready moved the rear of the springs. DSE has in part of their mini tub kit a new front spring pocket and a frame filler. You notch the frame rail and move the spring over. I think it can be done pretty easy just wondering if someone has done it without the kit. Thanks for your reply I have always looked to you as someone who knows what they are doing.

offset rear shackles won't work on a second gen because the spring are parallel so you need to move the front as well on first gens you just need offset shackles and move the rear housing perch because they are toed in at the front from the factory .

with the DSE tubs, taking a BFH to the seatbelt hump, and rolling the fenders id think that 315's would fit just fine.

He already has the 315's on the car...he wants to go to 335's.

I'm planning on 315's myself, but there might need to be some fabricating to fit 335's with leaf springs.

I hate to point out the obvious, but he needs to know if the front spring pockets can be moved inboard without the kit from DSE and has anyone here done it.Wish i could help more but i've never done it.

Well sure, all it takes is cutting tools and a welder

another way is to just flip sides.

The right pocket goes on the inside of the drivers side frame and visa versa. Make mounts for it and reinforce the floor. You have to move the dif and rear mounts in equally too. A better solution would be running a link type suspension.

Or you could just flare the fenders Trams Am style.

Thanks for your replys, I think I can do it myself, I hope to get a peek under DSEs 70 Camaro at the KC Goodguys show. If I can see it I can build it. Hey Noob if I had it to do over again instead of minitub I would flare the fenders like you said. I had a 68 Corvette that I put the L-88 flares on back in the 70's. I love that look.
