To paddle shift or not??

Well I put some corbeau seats in my car and they hold me in good. Heres the problem. When I mounted my shifter way back in the day I mounted it to far back and now its uncomfortable. So this had me thinking, either I move it forward and make some more holes or do I get a trick paddle shifter...They only side effect I see is price (2500+) I have a th-350 with a gear vendors and can get a mastershift system which is perfect. I can shift manually through all 6 gears with a touch of the paddle instead of shifting and hitting a button to go through all 6. I've never driven a car with a paddle shifter so I don't know if I'll like it. So what do I do?? Because thats a lot of dough but might be worth it. A paddle shifted 6 speed 70 lemans sounds pretty cool.

Go test drive a good paddle shifter car and you'll love it.

I've been looking at a Lexus ISF and the paddle shifter drives like a dream plus it sounds pretty cool having a V8 shift quickly through an automatic all with your hands not leaving the wheel.

Looks like you are located in Rhode Island. Not too far from Long Island if you would like to come down and test drive some cars. If that's not an option, sit in your barcalounger, strap on your helmet and crank those speakers......

Wish I had sound on the work computer! I might just come down to check them out. Where abouts are you? I must have driven 100 times to astoria next to laguardia airport for work. This is something I think I really want. Lucky for me I still live at home and board is cheap. I might as well do it now before I own a house. I honestly think my car will be faster with the paddles in autocross, dragstrip and the road course(haven't been there yet).

Correct me if I'm wrong but you still need to retain a standard shifter with the paddle shift, right ?
The paddle does the up/down shift but doesnt control Park, reverse etc etc...right? So you will still have the same issue you have with the shifter placement

No on the mastershift kit for a th350 with gv they totally eliminate the shifter. You run a digital gauge showing postion and can program it to shift to park and reverse and netural with the buttons.
