Welcome aboard there 427v8,
Do you have any pictures of your car? I would like to see the 10's on the back. What is the backspacing? I am planning to buy something new for my 71 and need some help deciding on widths.
Thanks,
Bill

Sounds super cool.

Check out my 69 Vette here:

www.mcspeed.homestead.com (http://www.mcspeed.homestead.com) and on the featured car section.

Sounds like you are headed in the same direction as I went.

Is your R&P a copy of the Steeroid with the Grand Am rack, or something else?

I would love to hear more about your brake conversion as that is on my to-do list.

Pictures please!

Thanks Guys!
I'm in the northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities, Mounds View to be exact, a bit of a hike to Rochester.

I'm a old timer on Corvette forum but am growing tired of the same old 3 topics there ;-)

Chris McDonald, I know your car, fantastic restoration.
My rack and pinion is based on the Grand Am rack as is the Steeroids version but my brackets are different. I prefer to say my conversion is based on MrVette's and Idar's conversions which Steeroids commercialized.

Bill I got the wheels on late last summer and don't have any decent pics of them yet. The car is in storage for another month or so then I will take more pics...

10" wide wheels are a bit wide for the rear. in order to get them in the wheel well I went with 6" backspacing, 5.5 would just touch the fender. 6 just touches the swing arm pocket. in hind sight 5.75 would have been a better compromise, but too late now!
A little hammer work on the frame fixed the clearance problems.
