Mines more of a cruiser but it's a 70 Wildcat. It's long by huge! Just visited it this morning at the storage facility to run it for a while. Too hot here to use it in the summer with black vinyl interior and no AC.
I've had it since the 80's when I bought it from a friend and have kept it all stock still other than bigger exhaust. It's got the 455 and still wears all of the factory original laquer paint with about 60,000 miles on it. I keep thinking it should be riding on air with some big wheels but haven't done it. As a "survivor" it would probably do well in shows if I ever entered it in one.

Slow touring? Finally a thread with my name on it!
This is my nearly 100 miles a day, rain or shine, hell or high water beast. Currently pushing 232,000+ miles on original everything.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/07/wagonX3-1.jpg
^ Big version of the one in my sig.
I've had a bunch of wheel/tire combos on it, but had to sell 'em when times got tough while putting my wife through school.
Most recent combo:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/07/621200717-1.jpg
I never really thought they fit the character of the car. But they were free (long story,) so why not?
Probably the most dramatic combo- 20x9 front 22x9.5 rear:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/07/19200716-1.jpg
Looked great, but slooooowed it down something awful. Cast wheels FTL!
And last, my favorite combo:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
Wish I had more than a crappy cell phone pic of those wheels, they were nice!
Anyways just thought I'd share.

For those who don't know the history on these 417 cid SOHC beasts (built from '75-'80) here's a primer from Brock Yates after he thrashed it hard at Road Atlanta for 100 miles in stock form with no issues whatsoever! They are a bargain 4 dr. hot rod IF you find one that's been maintained. A good number of Euro versions were imported here via the grey market and they came with about 10% more tq and hp. http://www.m-100.cc/6point9/brochure/brockyates/index.html
Just uncorking the very restrictive exhaust and adding a little gearing gets them to do a low 14 sec 1/4 mile. This is one of the ultra rare AMG tweaked versions that has been additionally modded.

I'd love to see pics of a '68. You first have to upload the pictures to a site like tinypic or photobucket. Once you do that, you have to copy the IMG code and paste it to your post. Hope that helps.

he guys, thanks for the comments.
first of all i wanna say that what you guys do in ameriva with the cars is science fiction here in europe. we're bound by so much rules thats its impossible to build a real PT car. because after the changes you guys make, you wouldn't get a title here in europe.
will stop the teasing here some more pics. in some of the pics my girl compliments the car. gotta shoot more pics myself this year of the car.

Great pics. Have you done anything with the interior?
Yes. Completly redit the front seats, back seat, headliner, doorpanels etc. All white. Put in a budnik steering wheel.
Still have to do the complete dash, but that will be the last thing on my list.
By the way, like your list of cars!!
found 2 pics from the photoshoot. not the best but better pics from the interior will follow in about 2months, when the weather gets better here in belgium so the boattailcan come out again!!! can't wait.

This is my '64 SS, was my dads, and before that it belonged to my uncle who picked it up from the 1st owners, from the Ord Nebraska area in '72. uncle passed in '81. dad did a full frame off restoration started 5 years ago, and he passed 2 years ago.
the only bad thing is it's in Nebraska, and I'm in Hawaii so I only get to drive it for about a week a year.

Here's my boat, 1967 Impala SS. I just weighed her, 4120 lbs with a full tank. The engine/trans has been moved back and battery is in the trunk resulting in a near 50/50 weight distribution. Front, 2040. Rear, 2080. Altered front suspension geometry and C5 brakes makes it alot of fun for autocross and track days. Factory AC also makes the car very comfortable for summertime road trips.74690

Next to Novas, Impalas are my favorite in the Chevy line, 67 my most favorite. Your car is sweet, it doesn't look like it's as menacing as it is and that adds to the cool factor. 2 thumbs up.

Hi,
I've been lurking for a while looking at the cool builds and stumbled across this thread. This is my 68 Impala as it sits now. I'm in the process of researching whats available for the direction I want to go.
I'm looking to do a restomod. At this point I plan to do a brake conversion, once I can find one that won't mess up my front track too much. I plan on replacing the steering box with a faster one, adding sway bars, decent shocks and see how that works out. Long term it will probably end up with Global West parts since they seem to have the best selection.
For power I'm probably going BBC since it would look right and I want the low end torque. Another option would be a 5.3LS so that my 327 badges are still accurate.
Just wanted to say that seeing the other cars here has been excellent motivation to come up with a plan and get started.
