I'd always wondered how they'd match up. About what I expected.

If they weren't afraid of breaking something, and actually launched the Veyron, with the AWD it would have smoked the F1 from the get go.

I'll bet that if they were on a road course, the F1 would've won.

Kind of shocked at how the Mclaren smoked the Veyron out of the hole.
Thanks for the link.

That was entertaining but I'd like to see a no BS race between them.

The Veyron may be bad as can be but the F1 is WAY better looking.

I agree, and I'll wager would run a bit faster on a road course as well.

Well, I guess you could say that was a good example of power to weight testing. And it's also an awesome show of torque vs. horsepower. I still love the McLaren F1. I wonder if the guy that owned one near me still has his. They're awesome in person.

I will always love the McLaren F1 even long after it gets surpassed on the stopwatch.
It was so pure.
Fast, unprecendented weight savings, they considered the actual driving characteristics more than the stopwatch readings, etc.

I'm surprised that the McLaren's suspension setup has not made more waves in recent years. They really did some innovative stuff with fighting bushing deflection in selective directions.
