I am wantring to add the 7 inch booster to my set up.I dont know if I should buy the single or double diaphram. Will on produce more pressure? What is the differences other than having two diaphrams?

Vacuum boosters are driven by engine vacuum via a flexible rubber diaphragm. Since vacuum is just pressure (force/area) lower than atmospheric pressure, the area of the diaphragm is the critical feature that determines how much gain or boost the unit will produce. A dual-diaphragm unit should create double the boost as a single-diaphragm unit in the same size.

For a circle, Area = pi*r^2 where pi ~ 3.14 and r is the radius, half the diameter, of the diaphragm.

Maybe if you give a little more information on your setup, others can chime in with what they've run and liked the best as well. Include the year/make/model as well the brakes currently on the car and engine as valve cover clearance can make things intersting sometimes. If you know how much vacuum your engine generates at idle, that would be a good thing to share as well.

Hey, Tillman and I are best friends and I asked him to find out about the booster since he is also wanting to run a 7". I have single piston stock calipers on my 67 camaro and I did a economy rear setup with afco weld on caliper brackets and big gm single calipers. I want to run a 7" booster and I can check the master cylinder piston size tommorow when I get home. What all dimensions do I need to size everything right.
Thanks Kevin
