How much performance would I be giving up if I went with a 1 5/8 header primary as opposed to the 1 7/8? For example, the street and performance shorty (1 5/8) and SW long tube (1 7/8). This is going into my 68 camaro. Any input would be appreciated.

Chris,
Shorty headers are usually a waste of money. They may look better than factory exhaust manifolds, but rarely perform better.
The real headers from SW will increase horsepower. The faux headers from S&P probably won't.

Thats what I figured, thanks for the info.
1-7/8" preferably or 1-3/4" will work well too.

We have been using the Edlebrock 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 step headers and mounts with much sucsess and they are priced real reasonable.

So Frank where do the Edelbrocks place the engine/trans in relation to the original mounts?

I'm using this set-up in my 69 Camaro and it placed everything pretty much in the "stock" location. At least after bolting everything in the tranny mounts lined up :)

How is the ground clearance? Could you post some pictures if you have them? Thanks.
I wouldn't mind seeing some ground clearance shots too! Woot!
