I posted this in the political discussions thread also, but I want to make sure everyone sees this.

I just spoke with Larry regarding Political discussion on Pro-Touring.com and because he is very busy I will act as a messenger and respond for him. He may weigh in with his thoughts later on this evening or tomorrow as well.
Political Discussions on Pro-Touring.com are PROHIBITED.
Due to the increasingly desperate state of the economy over the past year, pro-touring.com has become more and more lenient with regard to allowing political discussions. However, at this time, we feel it's best to return to our original rules and prohibit such conversations on this website.
It is unfortunate that many threads degenerate into political discussions due to the intertwinement of our hobby and the current political landscape. However difficult it may be, we must all make an effort to remove political commentary from our discussions.
Pro-Touring.com should be a place where people come to post about their cars and hopefully forget about the rest of their problems for a few minutes a day. Rather than provide a redundant (in the sense that there are so many political forums available) forum for our members to lament their problems, we wish to provide them with a sanctuary from them.
Visit Pro-Touring.com to enjoy the hobby and enjoy the things that make most of us happy--cars; forget about everything else for awhile and just enjoy the cars! Isn't that the purpose a hobby serves? Something that provides enjoyment and serves as a way to utilize free-time while also providing a physical and mental respite?
We are inundated with politics every day--on the news, in the paper, from the mouths of our friends and family. Pro-Touring.com was not created to facilitate these discussions; it was created to facilitate discussions related to our hobby. At the end of the day, this is a car site that was started to showcase Pro-Touring cars; it was never intended as a political forum.
For the time being, I have created a new subforum under The Outhouse, entitled "The Political Outhouse". All political threads will be moved into this forum. This forum will remain open for roughly 5 days, and then closed forever. This was done so as to give everyone an opportunity to make their final points in the currently active political threads. All future political discussion is prohibited.
