Hello,
I'm Robin and come from the Netherlands (small country in Europe)
I bought my 1970 Chevelle in July 2007 and did drive with it a year. But was planning to restore the Chevelle with a "old muscle car look"

I started working on the car at the moment I got it, but it's going more like a pro-touring car then a old muscle car...
Build a 4L80e in it with compushift and did drive with it the first year. Last winter I started taking the complete car apart and this is how it looks like on the moment (parts are in brown primer) :

It still needs a lot of work, but I hope to drive with it again next season.
Most of the work is body work.

Welcome. Where in the Netherlands? Anywhere near Eindhoven?

On Robin's behalf: Groningen is in the North, Eindhoven in the South, about 170 miles apart, which means in between 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours depending on trafic.

Yeah, I looked at the thread title but had a brain cramp and didn't look at the "location" in the upper right hand side, so didn't notice he had already said Groningen. I get to Amsterdam and Eindhoven every once in a while. I'm always talking to folks there (as well as in Best, just outside of Eindhoven).

Thanks for the welcome words.
I see that there are more people out of this country that are a member here. great.

I made a small parts list from the parts that I have for the car and I hope it is enough to call the car a pro-touring car.

Engine is a fresh build 396 with a Lunati 60202 cam, edelbrock performer RPM airgap intake, mid-size headers and much more nice parts:

I have a radiator from Alumitech for it.
exhaust is from Pypes 2.5inch polished with magnaflow mufflers
transmission is a 4L80e with compushift (by the way I'm still searching for a good converter)
rear axle is a 12-bolt with eaton posi 3.55:1
rear control arms are boxed and have polyurethane bushings.
I still need to box the original front LCA.
A Sc&C stage 2 + kit with Howe PC series Xtra tall upper and tall lower ball joints is also ready to bolt onto the car.
Moog springs with 600LBs/in for the front and 170LB/in for the rear.
Hotchkis HPS 1000 shocks, front sway bar is 15/16 and rear is 7/8
Steeringbox is from AGR with 12:1 (on it's way from Texas)
Brakes are from CPP 13" big brake set (also on it's way from Texas)
wheels are Vintage Wheel Works V45 17x8 in front and 17x9.5 in the rear (also on it's way from Texas)
With a very big THANK YOU to Jon from DriverzInc for his good service! :twothumbs

I hope the last parts get here soon and I try to find some time to work on the car so it can go to a body shop for nice fresh paint.
After that I want to save some money for new front seats (hope to find a set of first gen Viper seats) and a roll-cage (like the tiger cage from ridetech).

Robin have you already looked at the torque converters Steve Chryssos is selling? Highly recommended!

Have a look: www.twistmachine.com (http://www.twistmachine.com)

He also had some interesting posts on the subject on this forum, search for him under his username: streetfytr68. There are also a couple of good threads/stickies in the A/T section.

Welkom Robin. Ik ben Rob uit Amerika.

I'm American but have "woont" in Nederland three times.

I am hoping to be moving back to Limburg later this summer or fall.

Perhaps I will see you the Cruise Brothers in Den Haag sometime.
