LQ4 serial number

I have a LQ4 engine that I was told was a 2006. I would like to confirm that but I see no identifiable number. Where is it located and how do I decode? Also, the PCM that I have does not match the 2006 electrical diagrams.

your block should be stamped on the driver side just below the head with the vin number. The vin can be decoded and tell you exactly the year, make, etc. http://service.gm.com/dealerworld/vincards/

the 8th digit will confirm the LQ4, the 10th digit will confirm year.

As long as your PCM is the same for that wire harness it does not matter if it were from a differnt vehicle. i believe you should have blue and green ports...

Thanks for the info, but for the life of me I can't find the vin. I know what the vin should look like burt all the numbers that I can find are not even close to a vin. When you say below the head, is it front, back, directly below?????

I got a response to my request for info about how to find the vin number on an LQ4. I still can't find the number. I was told that the number was under the driver's side head, but I don't know if it is at the rear of the engine, front? I find numbers but nothing that even looks like a vin. More help please!

Can some one please identify this vin number for me? They said it came out of a 06 ss silverado truck but I think they lied.

If my memory is correct, it's on the rear of the motor.

that 10th digit is for an 08 model
