Hello All,

NCRC is going to have a track day at Buttonwillow on Friday 2 October for $99. Since this is far distant in the future it will allow plenty of time for preparation, and setup something to look foreword to as well. The configuration will be 1CCW, and each group gets (5) 20-25 minute sessions for plenty of track time. Plus the extreme heat should be gone by then as well. The website is at: http://www.ncracing.org/events.php

Nice, I was wondering when the next clinic was for another round of fun. I can't make this. But that is way cheap.

Im going to call tomorrow...who knows, maybe an open track Sat Oct 3 for two days of cheap fun.

YES, I am still alive! Things haven't been that great in the real estate business, but I've bounced back and landed in the East Bay area working for a really great appraisal company. I was able to hang on to all my toys, so the building of the '68 Camaro will start again!
As far as tires for my brother's Camaro I went with the Kuhmo VictorRacer 700 (which they changed recently). I thought is was a good tire and Dan has gotten 5 track days plus street time on them, but it's time for a new set.

The Camaro had stock seats and seatbelts for the first two track days that I attended. It's not easy to stay in the seat, but doable.

There is a sticky in this forum for prepping a car for track days. It does not mean you need to do everything in that list, but it gives you something to think about.

Most organizations have a tech checklist for the car and it and must undergo an inspection. Usually it's things like no radiator catch can, improper battery holder, etc. that gets a car red-flagged before hitting the track. Just go over the list before leaving home and repair things as necessary.

To me, the most important thing to bring to the track is you brain. I was lucky enough to have Mr. Pozzi around for my first track day, and even though he had to buy new underwear after his first ride with me, he still offered advice and guidance that made the learning curve a lot easier.

Many organizations have instructors that are available at no charge. Take advantage of it. Often you have to take a few laps with an instructor before going solo. If passengers are allowed, there are many here that have track experience, though not as deep as David's or Mary's, that would also be happy to help. There's no better time to be at a track day than when there are a bunch of friends helping each other.

Just an idea for the slippery seats...Try using some non slip pads for area rugs for more grip like these: http://www.rugsgalore.com/products/accessories/rug_pads/29840

the non slip padding is an interesting idea. I've never thought about that one before. I bet most people will think they're those messaging beads....

I read that sticky one before, i guess i will revisit it again and start thinking seariously about going.

Since i want to change the seats anyway I will start looking around. If i get lucky then great, if not i will likely have some rug burn from the non slip pad.

Try it with a slick vinyl BENCH seats and just lap belts......:drive1:

Maybe I should at least try to put in a set of cheap seats and belts.....Nawwww that takes all the fun out of the ride.

you guys crack me up!

so in my search for seat options i ask my fiance her opinion of a couple seats i saw on the internet and her response "why are you looking at racing seats? Why don't you look for something like the original seats???????" Hummmmmm..........

so i had to tell her that the seats in the car ARE the original seats, and remind her about the drive through Angeles Crest and how we didn't exactly stay put.

her response "whatever it's your car!" I can't wait to see how she sets her chevelle up, whenever i find one.

The crickets are chirping here...We may pickup another Camaro that runs Autocross at El Toro. One note: The car is never 100% ready there is always something else you will want to do to it before taking it to the track, and the deal may never be this good again. It's inexpensive, past the summer heat, and before the rain. Please take advantage of it if you possibly can if for nothing else for the fun and camaraderie.

If you/we go Buttonwillow Friday would you/we go AAS Saturday/Sunday? So many questions...

James,

That is a busy weekend if you run both. It will be good preparation for the One Lap of America competition.

You could use this opportunity to dial in your road course setup. It seems like you've got the Autocross setup dialed in pretty well.

Hopefully you folk's can make it. It won't be the same without you. I would rather get smoked by Camaro's than BMW's and Porshe's.

Carl,

As I remember the Point By group allows passing anywhere with a point by unless they will do it differently at Buttonwillow. The Solo and above groups are not about speed -as there are very fast folks in Solo- but how comfortable you are with passing and getting passed. If passing everywhere without a point by is a non issue then you can go to the Open group. Although passing isn't a big issue as they space the cars out as they let them on to the track, and they limit the number of cars in a group. There may be zero to two passes per session, and I have not encountered a conga line running with this organization either. The wheel to wheel stuff is reserved for the Race group. I feel very safe with my car with the two events I have run with this organization.

We've got plates, utensils, and paper towels. Please bring your grill, Carl ...

All I need is a head count so I don't end up selling leftover ribs on overstock.com. Either that or we have ribs for breakfast and lunch on Friday, too.

Is it possible to attend the Thursday evening BBQ and still sleep at a motel, or is the track locked up?

CarlC
09-22-2009, 01:57 PM
You may want to call the track Mike. They told me last week that they lock the gates at 6:00pm.

There are others that are coming that are hotel'in it and want to come to the grub fest at the track. If the track closes the gates at 6:00pm check to see if it's possible to walk in. I know that a friend of mine is trailering his car and wants to leave it at the track Thursday night, attend the grub fest, and hit the hotel afterwards. Perhaps some carpooling can be arranged.

John and I are in for baked beans and apple pie(s). Do you need a pot to heat them up Mary?

NOTE: I just called Buttonwillow about the access to the BBQ-gate issue and they said that the Northern California club hasn't made any arrangements for camping at the track and, unless that changes, there will be no camping at the track. If camping at the track is permitted, the gate will be manned all night.

I don't know if folks were planning on stowing away at the track, but those of you planning on camping might want to look into this.

To everyone ...

Good call about overnight camping (or lack thereof ...) at Buttonwillow the night before and thanks for checking into this. Our Thursday early evening feast-a-thon will continue without a hitch as we'll move it to the hotel parking lot or somewhere else off of Hwy 58/5 junction.

So far, I've got Carl and Mike for baked beans and pie. I'll bring the ribs. The motorhome has utensils and pans, plus a microwave for heating anything in. We'll also bring another portable BBQ to keep the ribs warmed.

We still need salad fixin's and dressings, several packages of those Cheddarwurst links, and garlic bread. Perhaps another dessert as we've got a lot of sweet teeth here. Any leftovers can be reheated and hoovered down for Friday's lunch. I'll also bring some sandwich materials (bread, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and lunchmeats) for Friday lunch.

If the NCRC does have the track made available for Thursday arrival, then we'll go back to there ...

I'll need a head count by next Wednesday so I can plan for the ribs.

I will bring the links and the garlic bread! ... and a dessert of my choosing!

Where are people staying? Is there a way to secure the car at the track or maybe we should all hire a baney fife to guard the cars while we sleep.

So far, I've got Carl and Mike for baked beans and pie. I'll bring the ribs. The motorhome has utensils and pans, plus a microwave for heating anything in. We'll also bring another portable BBQ to keep the ribs warmed.

Mary: Carl and John are doing the beans and pie. I'll do alcoholic libations (stick with what you know is my motto) and sodas if you can provide a tub and ice. Give me a head count and if folks can indicate their beverage of choice, I'll see what I can do to satisfy what I'm sure will be discriminating palates.

I'm planning on coming down on Thursday also, I will know for sure this Thursday when next weeks schedule comes out. I don't think I want to miss this event and a chance to hang out with everyone so I will most likely call in sick Thurs/Fri.
Maybe someday I will get this car done so I can run in these trackdays when they come up!

I can also bring a Small Weber and I have a few ice chest. I guess we don't have a choice now but to rent a room? You guys think we can get a group rate at Motel 6?

Hey Rupp can I get a ride?

Hey Jeff,

My enclosed trailer is 28' long and if you don't mind sharing space with the Camaro, feel free to sleeping bag it. I've slept in the front several times and it's pretty comfy. I'll bring the fold out mat and you'll be set.

So ... we have ribs, links, bread, desserts, beverages, and deadly fart beans. Also have two grills and ice chests. I see a replay of Blazing Saddles campfire scene ...

Hopefully, we'll be able to stay at the track Thursday night but if not then we'll go to Plan B and plant the motorhome in the hotel parking lot. We "pack" so it will be a fair fire fight if it gets to that ...

Need a head count by next Wednesday ...

Is this event open to spectators........:injured:

My Chevelle collapsed a lifter, besides I will not have time to put in a set of seats and real belts in the car. To add insult to injury my Dads GTO ate a clutch and is screwed up badly so I will have to run down to get it up and running this weekend (Fallbrook). When it rains it pours.

I would be able to attend just not with a car......unless I could rent a racer????? Wonder if I can find a 2010 Camaro to rent.....(hint hint Steve)

I would make a great crew person that pays his own way if anyone needs it. I have a pick up for hauling a trailer if it is needed (from the Los Angeles area).....do I sound desperate I don't mean to sound desperate....OK I AM DESPERATE I need a track fix. Help me PLEASE!!! :seizure:

You'll have to check with the track to see if camping is okay for Friday night.

YES!!! Come on up and we'll get you some shotgun time (if NCRC allows it). Either way, we'll have some fun and good eats plus tons of trash talk about who's faster. This is very funny. Ask Dave and Dan with the Chevelle/Camaro ... I have video.

As of today, plan on the BBQ for the hotel. If the track does allow us in Thursday and lets us be there overnight, then we'll move there so people can offload cars and trailers. If we can't get in Thursday, then we'll motorhome it in or near the hotel parking lot and keep an eye on our cars/trailers there. It's pretty safe ...

Mary,

NCRC has allowed passengers at the 2 events I have run with them. If I can get rides in the higher end cars I will be willing make some changes to my sessions as well.

For the barbecue and such I am willing to do the cleanup (dishwashing, pot scrubing, etc..), and I would also like to bring some snacks and water for the trackday.

OK, after getting some advice from big brother Carl I am finally off the fence, resigtered and paid up!

I spent last weekend going over everything on the car, only found a couple loose header bolts. This morning i got an alignment. Tomorrow we are back to the tuner for final tweeking (mainly to remove programing for the 4l60). I will spend this weekend getting everything ready to join you guys and gal(s) next friday.

I am looking forward to this event. It will be my maiden track voyage, so all advice is welcomed.

I will miss all the good food, drink and trash talking on Thursday night but i look forward to hopefully more of it on Friday.

Mary and Dave I am particularly interested in finally meeting both of you since both of you have given me advice at one time or another; not to mention all the good things i have heard about both of you from others.

This was my first track day and I have to say it was great. If you're on the fence about doing one, just bite the bullet and come on out.

I had done a Bondurant school about 18 years ago, so the sponsoring organization was okay with me skipping the driving school and going into "Solo" which had point by passing on straights. Turns out we had a lot of "ringers" in solo, so I mostly got to practice my point by, but nonetheless had a lot of fun.

My garage mate Dave (Orangcrush69) gave me some advice on tire pressures (start at 35 - shooting for 40 when hot - and tune from there) and the track layout. The first 20 minute session was a little discouraging, as I was learning the track, trying to pick out the line and trying not to hold up faster drivers. There were some pretty tight low speed turns (Star Mazda and Off Ramp) and a challeging combination in one section (Cotton Corners) that I couldn't figure out. (Track map: http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com/ We were going counterclockwise.) The "Esses" could be taken essentially straight though clipping apexes. "Bus Stop" was a nightmare of rough pavement. "Lost Hill" is a blind left hander that was just a hoot, you run up, the car unweights and then you hammer the throttle as the car settles back down.

The next session was much better - I wasn't particularly faster, but started to get some rhythm on the track and discovered brakes. I drive pretty hard on the street, but don't use my brakes aggressively. Using brakes on the track is a whole different deal. The third session was better still, but I was still doing a lot of point bys.

For my last session I rode with Dave (one of the faster drivers in our group) and it was an eye opener. My lines were pretty much like Dave's but he was using his brakes much more aggressively than I was and was powering out of the slower turns much more aggresively than I was. I think the key for me to getting faster is going to be learning how much braking I have, using it and trusting in my ability to slow enough for a turn and then relying on the car's power to bring the rear end around to set up for the next turn. After my ride with Dave, it was clear there was a whole lot more in my car than I was using.

The car worked great. Dave observed that the rear brakes were locking up on some turns, and my proportioning valve was already cranked toward full front bias, so I let a little air out of the rear tires. The coolant temperature stayed fine, my brakes (being underutilized) were fine, oil pressure etc. were all good. The tires even looked pretty good after about 75 minutes of track time. The car used about 3 gallons of gas for each 20 minute session - probably about 4.5-6.5 mpg.

There was a good Pro-Touring turn-out with muscle cars well represented and well driven. It was a sight to see all the Pro-Touring cars screaming around the track and we got to see Penny and Jackass go at it getting ready for Optima.

Finally, the people were great - very encouraging, very willing to offer suggestions and tips for how to get around the track, very ready with tuning suggestions, and very willing to ride along or to offer a ride - all without making a newbie feel like a newbie.

Special thanks to Dave for his encouragment and to CurtiSS for his tips on the track, car setup and for demonstrating that most speed is generated between the ears.

By the way, Dave and Mary Pozzi can drive. :)

Wow!

What a great track day! Great cars, great folks, great weather... I thank Craig and Dave H. for the rides in there cars. They have incredible cars and are great drivers. The event was like a private car show and track day. It was really good to have the first time drivers as well Aaron, Mike, and Kyle that all did great for their first time. The only bad part was it was over to quickly. I wish it could have been a two day event...I didn't get enough 4-20 min and a 30 finale just left me wanting more. I don't know about the others, but it was starting to come together for me in the 4th and 5th sessions. It was the best track day ever. The P-T cars were out in force. NCRC said that if we could get enough folks to commit early in the future we could get our own run group.

Then a move to a firehose.....It look like it had been parked next to a dirt road for 20 years with the windows open. Consider it was the worst off track event for 2 outtings is great (knock on wood). It was another great time with the Pro-touring.com family and the Southern California and Northern California people got to meet, I for one look forward to next time. I will hopefully have seats, belts, and a rear axle in my car to actually run Buttonwillow.

Here's a great pic of me driving Penny!
Many thanks to Steve for letting me get behind the wheel for a few laps!
I had a great time except when Penny lost a rear brake caliper! I wish I'd had time to really look the car over prior to the track day, Penny only arrived last Monday, and it's been a hectic week!

A little advice to Camaro racers, - re-torque your subframe bolts at least once a year! Penny's were below spec on torque, and we have seen this on Mary's Camaro too!

Gotta get myself fixed so I can drive the car. Thats a role reversal, normally its the car thats the problem. Glad you guys/gals had a great time and hope to make it out next time.

Just a little loose.. more like snug.

I KNEW I should have done a bolt check.. all we did was pound the snot of her all summer.

We spent all day today on her.. cleaned top and bottom and every bolt checked.

We removed all the unused parking brake crap and knocked off 5-lbs of unsprung weight!

Car looks good now.. except for that missing caliper.. DOH!

That was a blast! And I made it home as well. I did have to stop once after hearing a strange noise again. Turns out the whole first rib separated from the rest of the belt. I took it easy and said a little prayer and made it back to LA. So now i will clean up the engine compartment, get a new belt, change all the fluids and check my subframe bolts. I don't think i have ever looks at the subframe bolts so that will be interesting.

I really need to get some seats and stop using the door and counsel as
support.

My only regret is not buying one of those photos from the track. Since i didn't run in the group with the rest of you guys no one else got a shot of me. I took a few shots of you guys as well but I think the ones posted are better so i will just keep mine for my collection.

OH MY GOD!!! You two look pathetically awful and can't imagine having to drive home looking like an advertisement for a Tide commercial. Where did you guys go off at?? And I bet you're still cleaning dirt out ...

Hope the cars came through unscathed and that everyone made it home safe. You never know what lurks on the outskirts of a race track and I have found a lot of interesting stuff while hiking the perimeters. I lost a magnetic number during a session at Buttonwillow and decided to go hunting for it during the lunch break. Not sure where exactly the number demagnetized itself, I hiked the entire track, snaking my way back and forth so I could check both sides for the errant number. During my trek, I found the following ... pieces of a broken spindle, a couple of tie rod ends, a 13/16" Craftsman deep socket which I kept, shredded fiberglass body panels, a door handle, a bumper, and finally what was once my number which was now a mangled mess due to it landing right smack on the apex leading to the front straight.

I had the most awesome time and it was fun getting to run with other Pro-Touring cars. Still have that pesky tire rub issue and the bottom of the headers did a most excellent imitation of a bump stop (glad you liked the spark show entering Magic Mountain, Craig) but everything else worked well and nothing broke. For me, it was a good lead-in for OPTIMA in November. It's been a year or so since I tracked the car and with a lot of new suspension parts, new Forgelines and Toyo R888's, and the new front Baer 6P calipers, pads, and rotors, I needed a shakedown to ensure all was well.

What's also neat is that everyone pitched in and helped each other out if they needed it. Tools, jacks, elbow grease, you name it ... everyone was there for everyone. It was also cool meeting a lot of the site members that just came out to enjoy the cars and get rides. Hopefully, your cars will get finished and you can get some track time soon.

NCRG is a very safe and fun track organization and they really liked having us there. They said that they're looking into having more events at Buttonwillow so the So. Cal. folks can have some fun. And they'll even have sessions for us if the numbers warrant it; the session would be probably more towards Point-By rather than Solo but as we all know each other, this would work. Very cool and so much fun is ahead. For me, this is what our cars are mostly about and it's what keeps us motivated ...

Did anyone get lap times?

Steve,

IMO Those are nasty words. This event was about having fun, and was not a competitive TT event. Lap times are immaterial. We don't want anyone feeling bad because they were not as fast. Plus the cars were so different, as were the driver skill levels. We had race cars with license plates that were trailered and daily drivers from Los Angeles and the Bay Area that were driven to the track. If you want lap times join NASA and run in your designated TT class (most cars would be in the Unlimited class) where you are judged by your lap times. Everyone did great and it was a great time. Some organizations do not allow lap timing of any sort.

We went off on the inside of I-5 after Cotton Corners. It was not that bad at all (check the smiles in the photos). It was just a 270 degree spin with the last 90 degrees off course. We were working on using more accelerator out of the turns, and the back got loose on the rippled part of the exit of Cotton Corners. If we could have removed some bump damping from the rear shocks it would not have happened. The rear was skipping and got loose. It seemed like we hit a massive pile of Nestle Quick once we left the track. We couldn't see for about 30 seconds, so it probably looked like Bakersfield got Nuked from a distance. As everyone can see we all had big smiles and everyone afterwords laughed like hell about it. The track officials all gave the thumbs up, the lady in the flag stand threw down paper towels to help clean the windshield. The clean up will be the worst part. I wish I could help with that.

Yea, doing a bolt check was on my list but I ran out of time and didn't make it to the Pozzi's place to do it. Hell, it was fine in TN, but the truth is that it just hadn't broken yet. I checked around the car when I got there but with no lift I didn't get far under the car. Learned my lesson.

So the moral is to check ALL your bolts.. even the ones you forget about like the subframe bolts.

Good seeing you and we will have to get the One Lap and the Penster out to a nice autox to do battle.. he already has me beat in the "nice car" catagory, that thing is sick.

Hi Don,

Transponders were available if you wanted timing but not everyone did. A few in our group were curious and did rent them (I didn't so have no idea on my times). And where is Cotton Corner in relation to Start/Finish? Is it that 180 degree corner at the south end?

My best lap was a 2:24.822.
I've never driven Buttonwillow, so I have no idea what that means. I do know I had a freaking blast on that lap. I think that was a clean lap without having to pass any of the slower cars.
I found out that the stock Pirelli's went up 10 lbs in air pressure after a session. Once I brought the front tires down 10 lbs, the car loosened up quite a bit. It was still a little tight, but not nearly as bad as when they had 51 lbs of air pressure.

Tried to get gridded close to both of you guys but there were too many cars in between. The three of us flying about would have been much fun. Gotta do it again and soon.

Hi Don,

Transponders were available if you wanted timing but not everyone did. A few in our group were curious and did rent them (I didn't so have no idea on my times). And where is Cotton Corner in relation to Start/Finish? Is it that 180 degree corner at the south end?

Cheers,
Mary Pozzi

1. where did I say it wasn't about having fun?
2. where did I say it was a competition?

IMO you're a bit touchy.

Sorry Steve,

I would like to keep these events low pressure and safe for those out there on the fence to join us, and those that were there with us. A track day can be pretty intimidating for someone new in a car they built themselves. I would like to see double the amount of P-T cars out there. If the first step is too big it will be only the faster more experienced guys.

I know they had transponders, and if you're in the Open Group and setting a car up lap timing is extremely useful. None of us ran in the Open Group. Someone trying to put a good lap time in in a load of traffic is a dangerous thing. I want to keep it friendly and safe.

This is just my opinion.

BTW thanks for posting the great video!

Running on a track for the first time in a car I drove to the event with Mary Pozzi in her race car, CarlC in his supercharged car, Nick in the supercharged 2010 Camaro, Dave in his extremely fast 69 Chevelle and Craig in his race car, all of whom have multiple-multiple track days, intimidating? Whatever gives you that idea?

LOL! It sounds like a good thrill having that freight train going by. I wished you had a recording. It probably didn't help that some dope knocked one of the cones onto the front straight squeezing it down more in a spot. I hope you join us for another track day soon. Would Laguna Seca be too far?

BTW Try putting the Raybestos ST-41 pads on the front to improve your brake bias (if it is a friction mismatch problem). They are available from SpeedToys or Porterfield. If it's a hydraulics problem...

I think of track times (and times in general) as being more a gauge of progress... after all, it's nice to see over the course of the day that you're making progress (reflected in faster times). After all, without times it's hard to know if you are making forward progress in your driving skill.

I never suggested it become a "race" or that people drive past thier comfort/skill level just to get a time better than Joe Blow. Quite a few people got transponders so I was curious if they made improvements during the day.

Friendly is good.. safe is better.. and we should always keep it fun. So see, we are in full agreement :)

Aaron,

I'm glad to know that you and Mike had a great time. It's important that new drivers return and others thinking about it feel welcome to make our group larger with drivers we all can trust in their precious muscle cars. Why should only the usual suspects get to have all the fun?

Regarding my flight suit, I think Mike still keeps wanting to ask me to empty the trash receptacle.

Aaron, each and every one of us has been in your shoes. It's part of the learning curve. Though you may feel intimidated by the process and the cars, there is no such feeling from any of us that you don't "belong." Quite the opposite, it's great to have new people come out and take a hit off the crack pipe. The first time is the hardest. After a few, you'll be an old dog like the rest of us.

I don't know about the others, but this is how I gauge my progress without lap timing:

1. Am I on the line?
If yes then:
2. Am I on the throttle as much, and as hard as I can be?
If yes then:
3. Is the steering unwound releasing the car at the corner exits?
If yes then:
4. Am I at the limit of tire traction in most of the corners?
If yes then:
5. Is the chassis balance correct between under/oversteer in the important sections of the track? You need to pick where you want it to work, as there is no blanket setup to make it work everywhere.
If yes then:
6. Use lap timing to fine tune driving and chassis setup.

I feel this is pretty easy. I personally haven't mastered the first 5, so I don't need lap timing. When I am out on the track I am not impatient if someone less experienced is holding me up as they will let me by when it is comfortable for them to do so. If someone comes up on me I point them by as soon as possible remaining on the line where I am predictable, and as they are going by I lift -if possible*- to assist them in getting the pass complete. *Don't lift in a throttle balanced turn or you may spin out.

If you believe you do 1 through 5 well mount a video camera and review your track sessions. Problems with 1 and 2 will stand out like a camper shell sitting in the middle of the freeway. 4 is not hard to identify, and 3 & 5 are usually a bit more subtle.

Once you have mastered 1-5 you are blindingly quick and you can procede to competition in TT or wheel to wheel racing if you desire.

So the only reason to time anything is if you're in a race or competition?

Interesting theory...

Again, I don't know why you equate knowing a lap time to being in some sort of competition with others, but it's your right to have that opinion.

In any event, good seeing you and I hope there's another one of these track days soon.. hopefully my car won't fall apart again. lol

I have my own transponder that I had signed up to use. Of course I left it at home on the kitchen counter. I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to see their lap times. The idea is to go faster. The timer guages that. At a different track day I figured out thru the timer that I was wasting time frantically up and down shifting when in fact I was smoother-faster by leaving the car in a higher gear. Felt slower but was actually faster.

You looked like you going like hell down the straight.. sound great at WOT. Amazing how quiet the blower is. Autocross is like that too.. the faster laps are the ones that feel slower (and we all know how much you love autocross!)

Now that we have been there. Let's talk about the track. This was my first time running this configuration and it is now my favorite. I'm having a hard time figuring out a single favorite spot is.

My favorites are:

The Esses backwords and not having to slow down for the Sweeper as with 13 CCW.

The float over Lost Hill

Riverside and Truck Stop

Bus Stop

BTW I think my best time was a 13:56.99, and I have no excuses. The hamsters were running hard. Congrat's Aaron you beat me!

I rather enjoyed the Esses as well. But after looking at Steve's video i see i didn't go through them quite as straight as Dave did.

that 270 degree turn really made my tire rub issue evident. Trying to avoid rubbing ment i had to crawl through there. I really enjoyed the straight way, at least that was one turn i could drive wide open!

Yes, unfortunately that is me, DavidN. I went off twice, thanks to my traction control not wanting to go into Competition Mode. The damn thing kept fighting me and wanting to go straight. Was really fun in the Riverside turn. Finally got it into CM later. Of course it goes in no problem now that I'm home. I went off here instead of fighting it and possibly heading to the inside wall. I had just passed a car and came in kinda hard and bad line.
