We came up with a name the other night that I think fits the car. RAWHIDE from the Blues Brothers sound track. What do you think? Thanks Randy

Randy, for some reason this has to be one of the coolest pictures I've seen. Not sure why. Maybe because it's proof that these cars are DRIVEN, unlike show car trailer queens. I love the dirt on the tires, primer paint and trailer hooked up. Looks like you found a gravel pit!
Anyways, we'll see you in a few days.

slightly off topic, but how is your trailer hitch affixed to the car?

I fully plan to have a little tire trailer for schlepping R-comps and such to auto-x's and track days.

The Rednecks are coming, the Rednecks are coming! For those of you that don't know Randy, well, he won't take offense! Too bad he didn't take pictures of the test run to get bark mulch on the snowmobile trailer!!

Have a fun run, and if it's raining, I fear for those behind you - the amount of WD40 that washes of that car can make the EPA stop by... it's going to get slick on the track boys and girls!

I just would love to put a camera on the side of the trailer to catch the looks of people... rolling along I-80 as he's passing everyone with that in tow! (or in the rare case that he slows down and gets passed...)

Shouldn't that trailer have cow horns on it or something?

I will be riding shotgun in Rawhide for 13 hours or more likely driving since Randy hasn't slept in 11 days getting ready for this event. When I am not driving I will be filming and taking pictures. Rollin, rollin, rollin, Keep them doggies rollin...Rawhide. By the way, we left room in the trailer for him to stretch out if he feels the need.

ProBell
06-17-2009, 12:18 PM
OK a response to a few things. 1 - the trailer is a small box built 1986, It has ben in the back yard for the last 10 years untouched. New wheels and bearings and away we go. You can fit more than you think. The horn comments are driven from are 24 Hour of LeMons car. It is painted like a cow. As far as sleep goes, 3 hours a night is plenty when it is near race time.

I tried my best to get the Cormaro ready to fire up but I ran out of enough energy to get er done. About 100 hrs left to get to that point. I will have plenty of pics to show the progress.

I am leaving out about 6am tommorow and should be there by noon at the latest.

Is ther any construction to slow things down on 90-94 ?

Rainy day that cooporated when we needed it to. Started with some minor adjustments (pinion seal) and a fresh coat of WD40. Toured Lane Automotive and felt like a kid in a candy store. Did a 60 mile cruise with lots BIG Iron. Following the cruise we did a quick retouch on Rawhides WDF40 coat. Evening ended with a lightening show hanging out at Surfari Joes. Last minute excitement was a Mustang electric door opener electrical short that could have gotten bad. Mets lots of good people and will see them all at Gingerman.

OK just got back from over eating. I had a blast today. Got to see a lot of nice cars going fast. Got to talk to and hang out with some fun people. I was very happy with how my car ran. Their were a few incident but nothing tragic. The Orange Air Ride car lost a motor, that was pretty much the worst thing I saw. Bill Howells Vet spon in front of me, so I took the grass to stay out of his way. Should have it on Y Tube some time soon. Here are some more pictures from yesterday and today. Randy. PS Allot of cones may meet their maker tomarow.......

Thanks, that was my vette, the unofficial pace car of the event. You could tell when I was driving it, it was in the weeds. Now, when it was pacing the field, the driving duties were split up between Mark S. and Kyle T. They turned much better times than I did. We burned a tank of fuel out of it at the track, fun times indeed.

I can not thank all the people who put this event on enough. They did a great job all the way around. And all the sponsors were just as great, Lane Automotive., Air Ride ,Detroit Speed, Twist Machine and Bear Brakes just to name the ones I can think of now. Thanks Again Randy

I have some, but there still on my camera. The car has a bigblock and is basically a 2nd gen over a nascar frame / suspension setup. I had asked about his front springs and they were around 1,000 lbs. I'll get pics up in the next couple of days.

Randys pic of the car on jacks was my first sighting of probell. I pulled into the hotel parking lot and it was up with all four wheels off. Great guys, and one he*l of a driver.

Well we'll miss you there. Is Dan going? We're not taking anything. Just going up for Saturday.

My car is on a rotisserie...waiting to get blasted. It ended up going 11.05 at 121, in the heat, but when I tried it in cooler weather, with poor track conditions, I broke the driver's side axle. So I figured it was time to tear it all apart and start the "SLOW" process of resurrecting it into a badass pro-touring car (thanks to you and Dan).

I have all the plans layed out, just waiting on more funds for the execution. I'm going to do Pro-touring F-body suspension (race), adjustable shocks, T-56 magnum, 3.73's, C5 brakes, 17" VWW V48's with 285/40-17's rear and 275/40-17's front tires, full chassis stiffening, and lightweight driveline (aluminum flywheel and driveshaft).

I think I'm going to keep my engine as it is, but quiet it down with a smaller, full exhaust (remember the dyno at Carlisle? I think everyone at the fairgrounds heard it!). Now if I can only get to the point of assembly!
