I have not seen the seat belts yet as i'm in Iraq, but what is supposed to be in a 70 RS Camaro? My fiance says the belts that are in it are a pain and you have to buckle them twice, once across the lap and a seperate one for the shoulder. Has anyone heard of this set-up? Is it an old aftermerket thing?

Hey Sarge -

I've had a couple GM cars with that setup.. the shoulder belt locks into the lap belt, then you buckle the whole thing together. My old '72 Skylark had 'em, but the shoulder belts were non-retractable, and the headliner had clips that held the belts up when you weren't using them. Sounds OE to me.

The Morris Classic kits make all this go away while offering newer OEM style restraints.

My first car was a 70 Camaro. There are two seperate belts from the factory. One for the lap and one for the shoulder. The shoulder belt does not retract so it is not very comfortable. As mentioned the Morris belts would probably be a welcome upgrade...Stay safe over there and we appreciate your service.

My '71 had the same set-up. Very cumbersome and it always seemed like there were belts everywhere.
I swapped to the Morris belt kit and I'm very happy with them. They bolt right in using the stock floor and ceiling mount locations.
