So far, this looks like the perfect family truckster for us. Anyone know if it's a go? The only thing that would make it better would be sliding rear doors.

I don't where you are located but, here is a quote from the website below,

"but the Americans will have to make do without this one, General Motors have already confirmed the model won't be heading for U.S. shores."

I recently read somewhere that GM was planning on taking two of their plants previously planned closure, and that they would assemble a small car "such as"the Chevrolet Orlando which I guess is based on the Cruze platform. Of course, what they plan to do seems to change on a daily basis.

Considering they need to improve CAFE, I would think this vehicle with a 4cyl. turbo DI, would be a good vehicle to bring into the domestic market.

Also found this which is dated later (apparently it's to replace the Tacuma):
"Unlike the previous Tacuma, the new model is tipped to be manufactured in the U.S. and may be offered with a hybrid option."

Take it for what its worth, but the salesmen at the dealership I work for had a meeting with the regional manager last week to talk about upcoming vehicles, and they said that the Orlando was going to be one of them. Granted this is what they told me, and a lot of times salesmen have no idea what they're talking about, but its possible that GM has reconsidered its stance on bringing the Orlando to the U.S.
