Thought I'd show pics of something not normally seen here. Personally, the paint scheme is growing on me. That optional interior is very cool IMO. Car was just sold, dealer was asking $53,900. Has a 265 in it. It looks the same way underneath.

leave it alone. Theres enough ruined tri-5s out there that have been pro-streeted and painted with pastel colors in the 90s.
that thing is beautiful.

Do what you want man! It's amazing as it sits, but that would be a great PT car with that interior and color combo.

are you asking because you bought it? or just askin for fun? because I would leave it; as was stated, there are enough modded (badly) '55s around to PT (considering you'd have to replace SO much of it anyway, why start w/ a complete valuable car?)
not every virgin needs to be sacrificed.

No I didn't buy it, not sure I would pay close to what they were asking and then mod it, which I would but leave as much as possible alone.

I like it as is. The Tuxedo look is classy.

I'm big for the PT thing and all, but that car should be left alone if it has all or mostly original equipment. A new color scheme would be nice, without damaging the car. Bottom line is if it's yours...build it like you want it. You only live once so live large.

I would leave it just as it sits. Beautiful car right there.

Rogue, it sure is...
I also posted it over on lat-g, and I have been very surprised that its almost 100% agreement that it should be left alone.

If it was clapped out, or had already been a drag car or something I'd say have at it. But that thing is too nice. Leave it alone.

I like the original look.
I wish they made 18"-20" steelies. Those dog dish style hubcaps on some big modern rubber would be pretty cool.

the base wheel on the new Camaro is an 18" steelie, and the bolt pattern is pretty close..

Don't know what size they are but they look good.

$50k is a high mark to start a project on!! But as said above there are to many cars around that are project material to cut that sweet car up.

Cut it up!
swap in some lowering springs and leave it alone.

Absolutely leave it as is, that's a really nice / clean car...even though it is a post car.

I'd only do reversible mods

The car is beautiful as it sits............but they really aren't too satisfying to drive like that. You can make it a whole lot more fun to drive without ruining it. There is just about any "bolt on" you can imagine for these cars so you can make a really nice cruiser with a great stance. It won't be a full blown P/T car but it would be reversable.

If someone was to buy and mod a car like that, paying more than they normally would, at least it appears you wouldn't be spending money on paint, interior, chrome plus all the little things a project car would need.
JV you're right, they aren't satisfying to drive as it sits but there is so much you could bolt on without ruining it.

especially if its all matching numbers.....
go find an old Pro Streeter and go nuts without worrying about going too far and not being able to "bring it back"

I'm on leave it alone side. As others said, there are plenty of unrestored vehicles in plenty good shape for a PT build.

I would leave it alone.. If I where to do anything to that car I would make it handle, go fast, and stop but look stock inside and out.. :D

I would lower it, bolt on some 17s with wide whites from Coker, and leave everything else alone.
