So I was thinking of the simplest way to mount an in tank fuel pump for my Holley system. My welding skills aren't the greatest. I was thinking what if I mounted the pump inside the tank (in a tray of course, kinda like the Tanks setup) and rather than feeding it out of the top of the tank it would feed into the stock pickup tube thru some fuel line. This way I could just cut a square in a corner of the tank and easily access the pump and it would look like a stock fuel tank for the most part. I could just mount a return line somewhere on the side of the tank. I drew a very crude pic. What do you guys think? LMK.

Food for thought -

Under wide open throttle, more gas will be removed from the internal sump than returned into the sump by the return line. Under WOT, the sump could run dry, if you don't provide a way for additional fuel to enter the sump, either through seep holes, or a second pump filling the sump.

If you use a non-standard location for fuel to exit the tank, the best place would be in the back of the tank, in the center, down low, because that is where the fuel will tend to slosh to under acceleration.

Hi, I was going to use the stock pickup tube and feed the return close to the sump.
