Here's the first batch of close to 700 i took out there :)
I'll get the rest posted here in a few days.
I shot every single car that went through the AutoX line. Some more than others, especially if they went through the line 50 times *cough cough RideTech!!! *cough* LOL

Nice work on the photos.. sharp but shows action.
Did you crop them or cut off part in the shot?
I see Kinan's car is done.. he's been riding my a$$ about it and how it's going to destroy me at the optima event. Looks pretty bad ass.
Wish I were there.. sigh...
What were the fast times at the auto-x?

I am Curious about times also and I am also interested in that 33. Is that the Factory Five roadster? It looks killer!

Ness - The weather was sucky for the workers (i.e. ME!!) It was cold, windy and rainy. I'm just that good with a camera! LOL!
The course was fairly tight, we had roughly an acre worth of parking lot to work with. Very technical and roughly 2/10th's of a mile long.
Resto - Yes, that is a Factory Five version, it belongs to the editor of Hot Rod, Rob Kinnan. That picture is a close up of him turning around me in the "P" in the track.
Steve - Thanks for the compliments. I have to admit, the only one that is cropped is the last photo, the rest of the photos are straight off of my camera. :)
fast times were low 27's. An Atom showed up (i have photos) and blew everyone's doors off and it wasn't even trying that hard... you could tell he was barely getting on the throttle.
I got photos of EVERY single car that went through the AutoX, roughly 170 cars. I will have all photos posted on my site here in a day or two when i can weed through the photos.

They are actually very good, nicely lit.
But, one constructive note... Don't zoom in so much. You can always crop in on a shot, but you can never add what isn't there... we have a joke at the office "How much for the WHOLE car?" lol
I know you want to freelance work and this will help ya.. mags don't like to run cut off cars. Other than that nice work! Now go shoot some car features :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I will certainly take that advice!
The ones I posted were posted because they were 'stylized' and showed some PT cars that I figured the board here and lateral-g would like :)
I think once you see the rest of the shots I took, you'll see that some are zoomed in for effect and most are the entire car ;)
So... Where does one find cars to shoot features for and whom do I contact to get that done? :1st:

First shoot a feature.. pick a cool car and go to town. If you shoot a Camaro let me know. If it's good then we buy it, if it needs work then we typically give some suggestions. Also, it's a good idea to look at a magazine that you're interested in submitting work for, that way you have idea of the shots they are looking for.
For example PHR and CP both like to have a picture of the owner with the car.. Super Chevy doesn't. After we use a photographers work a few times they become part of the rotation (like Stephen Kim and Robert McGaffin).

So, if I understand correctly, I need to find some sweet cars, shoot them and send the proofs to you to see if you want to use it?
Is that the way it works?

That blue TA is NICE man, good look'n car. Is it just me, or is that '09 (or '10... whatever they're calling them) Camaro doing some major diving? Maybe it's just the camera angle?
Great pix!

If you notice my camera was level with the ground ;)
I can tell you that the 3 - 2010 Camaro's we had on the track really did give them hell. Decent times too for a completely stock car! :yum:
