Just throwing this out there, because....
I thought Pro touring was about "classic cars get modern attitudes"
New cars and late model cars are NOT Pro Touring cars. They came from the factory with "Modern Attitudes". Overdrive transmissions, fuel injection, Larger diameter wheels and tires, are all standard equipment. Ive owned 3rd and 4th gen F bodies, Fox and SN95 Mustangs. They are great cars BUT.... they don't belong here. Including the new CAMARO. What do you guys think?

P.S my car is a 1984 Regal. It came with a wheezy 305 and carb. 3 speed auto trans, and 14" whitewalls. Not a SFI turbo V6 with a 4 speed OD. he he he.

I dont.. thats why i have 2 67 Camaros

but i like them for what they are.. i dont consider them PT at all but i still like them.

its like Hugh Jackman could never replace Clint Eastwood.. maybe younger.. maybe stronger.. MAY be better.. but not THE ORIGINAL.

NOTHING better than the original to me.. everything else is just something diffrent.

Not another what is PT thread....

I care. I care a great deal. It's a great car and I'm not going to drive my 1st gen daily so I'm interested in it a great deal. Plus, you're right that some of the less extreme PT cars are essentially emulating what the new Camaro is from the factory floor. But it's for that reason that I feel it has a place here.

The new "magnum" T56 that a bunch of us are clammoring about? That's the tr6060 manual trans in the new Camaro. It's all about trickle down technology, and we are the benefactors. I'm glad someone was paying attention to what's coming out in these new "non-PT cars".

If this is in response to Tony's thread, you have to keep in mind that he's had multiple PT cars detailed on this site that fit your narrow definition, so I'd be inclined to cut him some slack, even if I did agree with your narrower definition of what does and does not belong here.

This is another Pot Calling The Kettle Black thread.

The new Camaro doesnt really appeal to me in stock form, but at least GM brought back a car with a history. Accept it or not. Live with it.

why wouldn't we care? we like fast aggressive cars, sure we may prefer the older ones, but the new ones still move.

Let's not get into whether or not a car belongs on PT.com.

Please.

The new Camaro is cool, and interesting to lots of us here. So let's talk about it. It sure beats discussing GM's bankruptcy.
