I am going to make this one. After a hot day at Nashville good guys to "look at" cars, I think I will pass on Columbus this year and do this instead. Autocrossing should be way more fun than another static car show.

I'll be at the Grand Am Rolex Series race at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama on July 18th and 19th , or I'd come to this event.

Maybe next year ???
I really hate to miss this ...

Tickets bought, I am there.
BTW, I think the cutoff for getting autocross tickets is coming up fast so be sure to order now if you plan to autocross.

Also for those who have not registered, You can still get in for the Autocross by calling Bowler and giving them your info.

There is a chance that you may be able to sign up for the autocross up to the day of the event but dont bank on it.

I just want to just let everyone know that the autocross registration has been extended all the way to the day of the show. Originally SCCA wanted everyone to be pre-registred by the 2nd of July to ensure that the paper work was done for their weekend membership, but they are going to work with us so we can allow people to sign up when they get here on Saturday July 18th. Everyone will just have to fill out some paperwork when the get here. The charge is $25 up until Friday July 17th and on the day of the event the charge will be $35.00, which will get you 2 dinner tickets for Sunday, car show entry, autocross entry, entry into the single 1/4 mile passes, and the first 150 get goody bags and a T-shirt.

As for the tread wear rating on the tires, we haven't put too much thought into it. This is just a good relaxing event and is for everyone to have a good time. However we discussed it briefly and if you are competing for the awards, a set of BFGoodrich Tires & other goodies we would like to see only tread wear ratings of 100 or higher. There will be two groups running, 1980 and older and 1980 and newer.
I hope to see everyone come and enjoy!

Thanks,
Mark

Just an update. Looks like good weather and a few nice cars confirmed and on their way. A few that everyone on here should know, such as: Bad Penny, George Poteet is bringing a couple, Rad Rides By Troy is bringing George Poteet's Mustang to play on the Autocross, Bill Howells GTO, Brian Finch, Air Ride Technologies Fleet of vehicles and many more!

As Bill was saying Hotels are limited, the best is Vincennes Indiana which is 8 miles from the show area.

Here is a few

Holiday Inn Express (812) 886-6333
Super 8 (812) 882-5101
Comfort Suites (812) 882-2244
Best Western (812) 882-1282

The show is located between Lawrenceville, IL & Vincennes, IN 1/4 mile north of Highway 50 just off the Mid-American Air Center Exit. You will pass by Bowler Transmissions on your left and head out to the Air Center. Hope to see everyone there.
We will start promoting this event more and earlier next year so everyone can make their plans. It will always be on the 3rd weekend in July.
Thanks,
Mark

Man, what a day of fun autocrossing. I think I made 18 laps in the vette.
I will start talking about this event in January next year to get everyone that is close fired up about being here. You just can not imagine how great a track and location this event is at. They use the old part of the airport and it is a great 45-55 second tract depending on your car and your driving talent. I can not wait til morning to hit the dragstrip portion of the event. Mark this one down guys as a must attend show.
Thanks Mark, Tom and everyone for a great event.

Is this event ( The "Day at the Strip" in Lawrencville Il. ) going on in July , 2010 ??
I know Bowler Transmission is having some involvement in the Midwest MuscleCar Challenge in Indiana on May 29-30th.

I was just wondering if this event ( Day at the Strip ) was going to be held July 16-17th of 2010.
I was gonna' ( maybe ) do the PSMC this weekend , but I don't want to overlap this event ..

Hello fellow Mooresvillian! I have not heard officially, but DSE has it posted on their "speed tour" for 2011. I'm crossing my fingers!
