I've done test fitting and searching on the internet and have come to the conclusion that converting a 69 Camaro from Mono to multi leaf with just the parts that Hotchkis provides is not possible.

The spring perch needs a hole in the middle not at the end. And I've heard that it takes spacers to fill the gap between the spring perches.

What is the best approach to solving this problem? I bought some 1/4 plate steel to weld into the perch, but if there is an easier solution, I'm all ears.

Yep, thats the easiest solution for the thicker leafs. You can always have perches welded on. Moser sells the correct ones.

Ok, thanks Quick. I'm getting ready to do it now.

It just amazes me that Hotchkis wouldn't tell you in advance that it probably wont fit correctly. I would be screwed if I didn't have the tools to install this. I feel sorry for the poor *******s who don't. They're in for a fun time.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

P.S. In the future I guess I will have to go with a different company for suspension components.

Here's what I did for my Global West leafs:

Detroit speed mono to multileaf conversion kit. It's basically 1" square bar on either side, and a spacer between the perch and the leaf with a hole drilled in the middle to take up the height of the bolt head.
