Just published a sweet story over at MyRideisMe.com. If you frequent the "Project Updates" forum here at Pro-Touring, I'm sure you've seen Ron Schwarz' "$5000 Budget Build Mustang" that is simply amazing. Add in the fact that he did it for $9000 (to date) and its quite the feat.
MyRideisMe worked with Ron this week to tap into his knowledge and experience to come up with his 5 Tips for building a budget Pro-Touring ride. I'll let you check out the story, here's Tip #1 for a teaser:

1. Choose The Right Car!
Your car has to be affordable, but still turn you on. If it doesn’t keep your interest it will be just another project that doesn’t get finished. Choose a car you can get cheap parts for, period.

wow.....what an inspirational build!!!

Over the years in all types of motorsports Ive found there are two types of people......people who brag about how much money they spent and people who brag about how much money they didnt spend....

And for a guy who's firmly in the latter.....

This is exactly why I wanted to share Ron's build and story with the car nut world. The story over at MyRideisMe got almost 500 reads today. A record for MyRideisMe.com. Inspirational is exactly what I thought when I went through his many build thread pages, pictures, and details. Hopefully it gets many out there to build their own dream ride whatever hotrod style they choose and use Ron's budget building tips.

I sure agree with the "watch ebay, ect" tip. I found a brand new set of L92 heads with valvesnad springs for $650, and got my brand new never used Wilwood front and rear brakes for less than a grand.
