OK, here's the deal. The car is lowered "a little" (still not sure of the stance). SPC tubulars up front w/Howe tall ball joints and PT springs. Currie Currectrac rears, SPC PT springs. Wilwood 12.2" drilled/slotted disks w/black wilwood calipers all around. I widened the inside of the rear wheel wells, and can fit either 275/45/18s or 295/45/18s in the rear with a 10" rear wheel and about 5.5" backspace. I want more than rubber band sidewalls. I may do 18" rears and 17" fronts. Still not sure. Here are a couple renderings. Thanks for the help! BTW, the lower of the two renderings with the tach wheels is not proportionallyl correct. The wheels are larger than 18's and the car is lower than in reality.

I think the NewGen wheel with a powdercoated grey center would look good.

That picture looks killer, can't argue with that look one bit...:yum:
You could do any number of Rushforth wheels and it would look killer too with smoked titanium or grey powdercoated centers and yes,the NewGen Thrasher would look right at home as well with either a polished finish for the bling factor or a grey-face for that race-look...couldn't go wrong either way.
See where I'm going here...?Ask 100 people and get 100 different answers...and most all of them would prolly be good suggestions.
Whatever you do,don't do a 17/18 combo...you'll regret it...ask me how I know.I'd suggest either a 18 all-around or a 18/19 combo with some 40-series tires,IMHO...

OK, I gotta ask. Why the regrets with a 17/18 combo? I really don't want anything bigger than 18 on this thing. If it weren't for tire sizes, I might have stuck with 17s.

To me,the fronts will always look too small with that combo,I had an El Camino I bought with that combo and hated it.
You will not regret running 18's at all four corners...

I have a 17,18 combo on my 71 Camaro and the bottom line is 17 just isn't "big" anymore. Only 2 weeks to go and I should have my 18,19 Rushforth wheels on.

x 3 go with 18/19 at least. Also you could never go wrong with Rushforth. Boze look good as well. After all that work dont go with coys. It will be like wearing a tux with tennis shoes.

Thanks for the comments - keep em coming!
BTW, it's very likely I'll do 18's front and rear. I will not do a 19" rear. I'm definitely not looking for "big" - it really doesn't go with the theme of the car. With the exception of paint, the exterior of the car is pure stock looking. It's only lowered by the use of the SPC uppers and Howe Tall Ball Joints (SC&C Stage 2+) in the front, and the SPC ProSeries springs all around (all from SC&C). I'm guessing that it's lowered from stock about 1" to 1.5".
I'm looking for "proportional" and keeping true to the period look - on the outside. The idea for this build was to make it a real nice conservatively done exterior, and pretty much all business under the sheet metal. That's why the new "stock style" factory (from legendary) interior in pearl white, with the "kind of period" customized dash. No custom seats, no console. No big stereo or subs. Hope that makes sense.

Since you are building the car to have a period look, then I would go with the NewGen. It has more of a traditional styling than the others.

18's all around for tire size options. With that color I'd go with a satin or polished wheel finish to contrast.... no dark charcoal.

Wow, Kris really did an excellent job on that rendering! The wheels on the car in the 2nd picture look similar to our Tach.

I like the 'old school' look on this car. I would go with the 'Newgen' wheel with a Grey center.

I would go with the wheels in the first pic (awesome look). But I'm not sure what they are.

We're two days from releasing a new New Gen wheel, I think everyone is going to like, but I agree with the above comment from Street3285, and 72tunaboat, the NewGen wheel is "classic" and will look good for years to come. No rivets to date the wheel, and is 3D milled out of billet to give you that classic five spoke look with rounded contours, rather than just a flat faced wheel that takes 20mins to mill. I'd suggest our Brushed Titanium finish for the center, and a polished outer to match that car and keep it classic with a modern twist.
www.newgenwheels.com is under construction, but it has a homepage now.
Let us know if you choose to go this route, or Rushforth, we have you covered with a "mounted and balanced shipped to your door" set of wheels and tires when you are ready.
Happy to work with you on the custom fitment too.

I agree with Jon. I think the NewGen is the way to go. Modern wheels that have a vintage look that will not date the car. Plus the powder coating options give it the one off look. NewGen is the way to go.

Bonspeed has a couple of new designs that would match the clean, classic look you're going for. The Superstar and the Vinspeed have a nice vintage vibe to them.
Let me know if we can help you out. Ask for Gary.

I thought they'd "fit" with the build. But.... After I got a rendering done with them I just didn't feel they were right. So, I ended up going with the new "Splitter" from DriverzInc. Here's a rendering...

That looks GREAT!!!!!.. I got some of the BS SLC62s for my nova. They are a pretty nice wheel. Wheels are soooo hard to make a final decision on. JR
