View Full Version : GM "A" Body Modular Front Sway Bar

Since Bret's GSX was already on the lift designing the new TigerCage. We went ahead developed a new sway bar for the front as well. The design is similar to the Camaro and Impala bars that we have had for a couple years now. The bolt-on arm design improves tire clearance, is tucked up tighter to the frame (some of the bars hang down pretty low) and allows less body roll by using a large diameter 1.5 x .188” wall tubing and our PosiLink end links. We have applications for the 64-67 & 68-72 GM “A” Body.

I don't have finalized pricing yet, but we are shooting for $500 for the complete kit including the Posi-Links. It is designed for use with the stock frame. 30-45 days shipping.

Is this kind of how some nascar setups are? I was looking at stuff on ebay and came across a bunch of nascar sway bars and they look almost identical.

It's not actually a splined bar, but similar in function. The bar bolts to the arms.

Here are some more pictures and a video of our new GM "A" body display chassis. This new chassis is pretty bad ass. It features the new monotube remote resevoir Titanium Series Shockwaves w/ the infrared height sensors, rear Titanium shocks, the new MuscleBar, TigerCage and AirPod compressor system. We finished it up just in time to push in on the trailer for Power Tour.

We now have these new sway bars on the shelf and ready to ship. The Blue 66 did very well at Gingerman. With the new design we were able to stuff 275's under it without tire clearance problems!

Man, that is a very light looking front end assembly. Have you ever compared the weight of traditional control arms, coil springs, shocks, sway bars etc... to the setup that you have shown here? It seems like it would reduce the weight on the front end drastically.

I know the Shockwaves (7 lbs each) are much lighter than the coils, but I have never weighed the stock arms. My uppers weigh 9 lbs each and lowers are about 13lbs each (w/ bj & shafts & bushings).

Is that bar alot lighter than a solid 1-1/4" bar?
