I'd appreciate some opinions on my next clutch purchase.
The application is a new ZZ502 in a G-Body, with a Muncie four speed (mechanical clutch linkage & steel flywheel), and 3.42 rear gears.
The car lives on drag radials (315/35's), but will probably never see slicks. I'd like a heavy-duty clutch that grabs well and will survive, but at the same time I want to avoid the grippy, chattery style clutches out there.
I'm replacing an 11" Centerforce II clutch that served well, but shortly before teardown I thought I noticed the sound of the weights on the diaphragm fingers rattling when the car was idling in neutral. Bothersome.
What do you guys suggest? I don't mind a bit of a stiff pedal.
What about the 12" McCleod unit? Any opinions or links?
Thanks very much,
Rick
