So i thought i would go ahead and try the heidt tall 2" drop spindles on my 68 Camaro, i was told i could have some problems with the tie rod but decided to proceed. I placed the spindle and hub in the wheel before mounting it and it looked like it was going to be close so i proceeded to install.
First thing i noticed is when i lowered the car to the ground the the tie rod swung down and hit the tire, i added 5/16 wheel spacers, problem solved for now, nope now the tire hits the fender, things are tight up there.
So what i think i need to do is to change out the type of tie rod ends, is there a smaller Heim joint type end i can use? i could then remove the wheel spacers.

Raised it a bit more and put some button head screws in to replace the fender screws, I then tried to move down the driveway a bit, car didn't want to roll very easy and was making a terrible grinding noise, i had no choice but to back it back up the driveway, (its steep) jacked the car back up and noticed the rear of the disc was rubbing hard on the lower control arm, this turned freely when jacked up.
Conclusion
"these spindles are ***** and will not work with Global West LCA"

Now what? should I try ATS, dont think i can return the heidt parts since i powder coated them.

If you can get the ATS part, I'd run it. It only drops the car a little less than an inch, but the bump steer disappears. If you've already got C5 calipers and disks, they'll bolt right up. Otherwise, what other suspension mods have you made? I've already forgotten and am a bit lazy to look.

Allen,

I'm running Wilwood 13" disc and 6 piston calipers, with Global west LCA.

X3 but I already have them mounted up, I'm going to try one more thing and see if it works, the only problem I'm really having now is the LCA hitting the disc, I went with these because they were tall spindles and fairly inexpensive compared to the other options, ill let you know how my next experiment goes.

I think Air Ride uses those spindles, you might ask them.

Dave, Air Ride uses the FatMan Fabrication spindles.
