If your engine compartment was flat black, then I'd say do the bottom of the hood the same, but since it's not, go with body color.

paint the main part of the hood body color and then flat or 40% or so black the cut out areas. it will really make the blue POP.

paint the main part of the hood body color and then use a flat-40% black for the cut out areas. it will make the blue POP.

X2! then if it doesn't look good to ya, you can fill in the area with ss panels.

I believe "correct" for 65 is flat/satin black.

Mine will be "correct", although I do think I favor body color.

I Know I said to paint the bottom side of the hood black earlier, I change my mind..

My car will be all satin black sheetmetal under the hood and the bottom side of the hood will be Body Color..

i vote for body color since the bay is painted body color. however i think, depending on the whole situation, i might just go satin black or even just let it over spray on it and put some dynamat hoodliner on it to protect the hood from heat

I agree, body color with black inserts. It would give your engine the "jewlery box" effect.

If you're gonna paint it body color, better shoot the hinges and core support as well.
