"If you're ready to take advantage of the sale of the century at your neighborhood Chrysler dealer, especially if it's one that's doomed to close, you may want to hang on a bit longer.
Prices on Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles are already low but some experts see them getting even lower.
There's a June 9 deadline for these dealerships to unload their inventory either to other dealers or customers. Ordinarily, Chrysler would buy back the excess cars but since its in bankruptcy, it can't.
What Chrysler may do, however, is increase incentives as the deadline draws near, said Jesse Toprak, an auto sales analyst with Edmunds.com."

Check out this discounted price on a Challenger...

...the V-8 no less...
I hope something similar happens for GMC or Chevy. I've been wanting a new Acadia or Traverse for a while.

Not sure I would call any deal on a Chrysler a deal.

I'll bet they won't do any deals on the Challenger. That's the only car I'd be interested in at all.

Our local dealer got the axe and he is furious with Chrysler. I bet he owns all the inventory on the lot as it's been sitting for more than 90 days. He has no reason to discount since the money he's losing is his.

The dealers will have some incentive to sell the cars, since after Chrysler takes back the franchise those dealers will have to get a new business name and will be required to sell their stock as "used".
Yes, they will have to sell new cars as used! Technically they will be the first owners of the cars.

When our local Mazda dealership closed, I noticed the cars sitting on the lot as zero-mileage 2009 "used" vehicles.

$27k for a Challenger isn't exactly a steal if it stickers for $30k.
A Challenger for 40% off ($18,000) sure would be nice though.

They'd probably send them to auction before they'd offer 40% off....

Once the deadlines pass those dealers will also lose any cash back incentives for the customer since they will not be franchised dealers. They will need to sell out now, no reason to have a single car on your lot after the deadline. Probably a good time to get a truck, but I don't see any challenger deals, they can dealer trade it to another before they take a big loss.

I was looking at truck deals late last fall. I'm a GM fan, but I was looking at everything. Saw an ad for 42% off sticker for Dodge trucks on the lot at one dealer. No games, no BS, honest 42% off sticker. Bought an '08 Ram w/ Hemi, 3.92 posi, towing package and a few other options for $18K. I have 10K miles on it and it's a solid truck, although GM's A/C works better.

Been looking for a 4WD Quad/Crew Cab truck, 40% off one of the Dodge 1500s could be a good deal.
