I cheated. I checked his photobucket account, and one was labled japan. So I assumed it was a building in japan, then searched for "japan ruins" on google.

Aww you dirtbag. I even put the pic in a different folder in case someone tried that. Obviously not enough.

HAHAHAH! Never underestimate the sneakyness!! I would have used an image search program otherwise. Photosynth. All you do is plug in the photo, and it finds every other photo from every angle of the same thing on the net. http://photosynth.net/Default.aspx It's amazing.
But yep, condenced the image's URL down to your user name, scanned your folders for vacation photos, found the rest of them under "japan" and then googled japan ruins. As soon as i saw the japan folder, I guessed hiroshima, and google confirmed it.
/I love solving things like your challenge by diving into computer tricks and junk. Why do you think I'm a moderator? I can dig up dirt on ANYONE, my google-fu is unmatched!

I don't think they teach about "bad" things anymore do they?......just what they want you to know, not necessarily the true stories.
But that is a whole 'nother subject that will get me modded! LOL.

So do we get hints like at Canon Digital Photgraphy forums WAIN (where am I now) challenges? Is that where these images came from?
Samckitt
05-17-2009, 06:16 PM
It was completed in 1932 at a cost of $75,000
The owner used it until 1940.
More hints to come.

LOL. I guess I am too good at giving hints.
Yes I live not too far from there. My parents worked at the Jefferson Proving Grounds. In the grounds is "Old Timbers lake" where we spent quite a few weekends camping/fishing. We even stayed in the lodge a few times. That thing is huge, and spooky to a kid, out in the middle of no where, no city lights & such. On weekends when fishing, there would always be military jets flying over practicing bomb runs & strafing. We would hear them firing, hear tanks firing & the whistling of rounds flying through the air.
Obviously from the aerial image you can see the grounds of the Proving Grounds. The red push pin is about the location of the lodge.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
The Alexander Thomson family built it in the early 30's & the US Army took it over in 1940 when they took over the land to build the Jefferson Proving Grounds.
The main "living" room has a giant fireplace on each end, the mantle weighs over a ton & each would burn over a rick of wood per night. The floor in this room was the test bed for Johnson wax to develop their wood polish.
All the gutters & downspouts are brass or copper & when construction was finished the owner didn't like the shiny color, so they poured some kind of acid over all of it to tarnish it.

Looks awesome. I was looking all over googlemaps for images of cabins near your home town. I should have used the word "lodge" instead. I'd have eventually found it. I found out where you post images all over the net.. all I needed was more time. LOL.

Its helpful to have those tools when people have multiple personalities on here. Or when someone is trying to scam somone in the for sale section.

I love those things. I would love to have one as a pet but I don't think they live past 18 or so days in captivity.
I instantly knew isopod. They are just about the coolest ocean creature. Yeah, I used to love playing with roly polies when I was a kid too.
