OK First a little background on this truck. It was previously fitted with a 347 stroker and ProCharger P1SC. It made right over 750HP. He ran as wide of a MT tire on the back that he could with stock inner fenders. He also ran the junky heavy ass i beam suspension Rangers are notorious for. It was also featured in the June 1999 issue of Super Ford magazine. Fast forward a bit to now. A new rear suspension has been added and the bed mini tubbed. The rear frame rails have only been notched for axle clearance. The front was completely redone with a Mustang II front suspension. Now to the interesting part. The motor is completely being redone with two hairdryers hanging off the sides (I can't remember is they are 76 or 83 MM units.). He built the headers himself, well actually everything on the truck has been done by him. His words to me were, "If it doesn't make 1,000 HP, I won't be happy." Now on to the pics.

It's a Chris Alston Fab 9 housing.

Cool project...but I can't imagine dumping that kind of bread into a Ford Ranger Splash.

It's his toy. He's had it for several years. His wife has a 1970 Torino Cobra Jet and his son has a 95 F150 with a built Windsor awaiting a Pro Charger F1 unit. He also does truck and tractor pulls with a Ford Ranger in the 2wd truck class. Mark builds some killer motors too.

Most of the work can be yanked and transplanted so maybe it's not such a big deal.

I can't imagine dumping that kind of bread into a 69 Camaro  :enguard:

It's made a pass or to down the strip but he mainly shows it and just enjoys driving it.

From the looks of the motor, with those heads, and turbo's, I'd say 1000hp might be just a tad conservative...

Progress shots will probably be slow right now. He's working on motors for several people for the upcoming truck pulling season. Below is a shot of the truck he pulls with. It belongs to my boss. My boss also pulls the S10 shown in the second pic.
