deletion of electric choke?

is there anyway i can delete the electric choke on my edelbrock performer series carb? its causing my car to rev at a start and sometimes the throttle will stay open while driving! i tried to adjust on the side but the was no luck. thanks-dom

Try hooking the wires up properly and make sure the choke cap is good. other wise simply loosen screws, and turn the cap till choke opens and stays. turn wrong way and choke will close.
